"Constrained by high margin contributions to the corporation that are based on a software model, not a managed security service."

"Think out of the box and stop being held back due to margin contributions based on a software business."

"I liked the independence and flexibility that I was given. Just get the job done. We don't care how you do it."

"No complaints, really. I am always up for more vacation."

"It almost went out of business due to problems with cash flow. Something like half the company were laid off, including me."

"Hire a Financial Analyst and Comptroller who are very knowledgeable in their field."

"Sucks if you want to grow. You get pigeon holed."

"Remove layers. Give engineers more say. Get rid of half your product managers - most suck!"

"My department is not so well organized and my boss is not very likable."

"Too global: managers of a team aren't aware of issues and can fail a team."

"More training regarding HR laws when team members aren't in the same physical area."

"Please do prepare Storage side concept, File System concept. Security concept before going to interview."

"There is nothing that I didn't like while working with company, it's up to us how we look at the company."

"The management was good. Judgement to release a product on time and deliver it efficiently, so can't give any suggestion."

"The variety of my position. The fast paced environment. The people I've met."

"Look for something better, unless you want to be a hamster in a wheel with minimal food pellets."

"Everyone in management has their own agenda and will gladly step on you to get up to the next rung. People talk behind backs and then praise you to your face. Ask the moon and stars and don't mention a thank you even IF you can deliver."

"I would fire the people that are contributing to the hostile environment and actually listen to the people down in the trenches because so much of what they say and do has a direct effect on the bottom line and they deserve to be respected and listened to."

"I do not like this company. The Heathrow office employees need more employee education training."

"Honest and respect. Do not cheat on your interview. Answer the question to your best ability."

What don't you like about working at Symantec?

"There are a few employees in Heathrow, FL office are having private inappropriate secret relationship with other co-worker for getting things they want in the office. More senior engineers will use their power to get things for junior female software engineer. They claim whatever they do is legal. They can do whatever they want and they can sleep with any female employee as they desire as long as they satisfy with the mutual benefits that they are getting from each other. Symantec HR should reinforce the employee policy and sexual harassment policy to avoid any legal litigations. Symantec should reinforce the family values, business ethics, standards of behavior and business IP property in its employees."

"Reinforce employee policy and do whatever they can to protect company IP."
