"I have been working for Symantec for over 3 years. I believe that Symantec is a strong company given its portfolio of solutions. I am grateful and appreciative of how Symantec has helped me grow, however the constant state of uncertainty for the time I've been here makes it very difficult to plan for the future."

There is a lot of politics and everything is constantly changing, so if you are afraid of change then you might have a hard time. Personally, I like change and the company treats its employees well."

"Symantec was a good company to work for in the early part of the last decade. However the current executive turnover has created an unsupported feel in the work environment. As an employee has no idea what the current regime will do or where they plan to go. I work for the IT department and we were outsourced to HP which led to severe business customer dissatisfaction and ultimately to an end of the relationship."

"They were an industry leader in system security and provided great skills."

"I don't really have bad things I did not like, it was a typical organization."

"I would recommend better movement and availability of process input."

"The variety of my position. The fast paced environment. The people I've met."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Look for something better, unless you want to be a hamster in a wheel with minimal food pellets."

What don't you like about working at Symantec?

"Everyone in management has their own agenda and will gladly step on you to get up to the next rung. People talk behind backs and then praise you to your face. Ask the moon and stars and don't mention a thank you even IF you can deliver."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would fire the people that are contributing to the hostile environment and actually listen to the people down in the trenches because so much of what they say and do has a direct effect on the bottom line and they deserve to be respected and listened to."

What do you like about working at Symantec?

"It's a global leader in its field. The emphasis is on the quality of care we give the customer. Facilities are awesome, new building, cafeteria, gym, all the perks."

"Depending on what product you are interviewing for, I'd make sure you know your stuff."

What don't you like about working at Symantec?

"So far the experience has been great, they could provide maybe a massage therapist on site."

"None at all, so far like I have stated above, it's been a great experience. The managers are very receptive, enjoy insight and very knowledgeable."

"For quite awhile it had a great work atmosphere. In the last 2 years it fell flat on its face making it just the opposite."

"Think long and hard at this time. Maybe 6 mos to a year try again."

"Sr management made it an impossible place to do a professional job."

"Clean house of senio staff and bring in new VP's. Directors and CIO."
