"Swift Transportation cares about its employees and has been a great company to start my career. I have been able to work with multiple divisions within the company and also work with their fortune 500 customers."
"The best place for work. really good environment"
"Some really great people but also a lot of nepotism. Management says they want new ideas and change but is very slow to act or support change."
"While the job pays good, it is high stress every day with little reward other than a paycheck"
"Overall good company. Big company going in the right direction."
"I had a short time with Swift Transportation, but in that time I learned a great deal and was able to experience so much that opened my eyes to just how vast the technical field is. What was already an ember of interest ignited into a blaze of passion for how things worked, that was all thanks to Swift and the people that helped me there."
"First, you should really understand the Pros & Cons of the trucking industry. The trucking industry has changed dramatically and continues to decline with well-qualified drivers. I’m currently an Intermodal driver for Swift Transportation in California. One of Swift’s main problems is the company lacks leadership and a well-qualified management team who can provide first-hand customer service for the drivers and all employees, and continue to help these trucking companies prosper. Without the people or the drivers, these trucking companies like Swift Transportation and others cannot survive. Drivers need to understand one key element (the drivers hold the key to their success and failure), if only we come together to take a stand. If every driver from around the world was to walk-out, this trucking industry would take a “deep dive” and their stocks would fall like pouring water in a storm. Swift Transportation is like a parasite, growing amongst the people like mole. Swift Transportation attaches itself to their employees and all who walk amongst their grounds, over all 48 states “do the math”. Literally sit down at your computers to read these honest and real-life true reviews, are indeed real as it gets. These people and I speak from the heart with true facts to back up our stories and proof exists. These are real people who have come to work for a company who lives for themselves to shine, disrespects, collect bonuses off us drivers, walk softly and continue living the good life as planned. Paying your dues is one way to say I have done that and A-Bag-of-Chips. But the real chips eaten and taken away from the employees. While, corporate level CEO’s, continue to sit back behind their desk (counting their dividends) and watching their stocks climb, with some having little knowledge in positions (collecting a high paycheck only). The hardest part knowing, that the work is done, performed by the drivers and employees who understand only 9-5, co"
"SECURITY OPERATIONS ANALYST The pay starts at $16.00/hour or $33,280/year."
"I've spent seven years with Swift, six years the first time and I've been with them now just a little over a year. They have been fair and honest. I could not ask for more. There are drivers willing to work and there are drivers who want almost everything handed to them. Show a little incentive and you will be treated accordingly. Training videos and really good driver leaders can go a long way. Use your head, pay close attention to safety and you can make a great career with Swift."
"Look I've tried figuring out where to start and what all to say. But truth is I have SO much stuff, there's SO much bad stuff from my experience I can tell you it could fit a Stephen King novel. I'm going to go ahead and say though, your experience may differ than mine, and if you are already a driver with enough experience to not have to do their trainee program then go for it... I went to Swift Academy, got CDL, then they quickly ushered me into their orientation and trainee program. I am just going to say this once... DO not go into their training program. YOU WILL be very unhappy. They DO not have enough mentors to go around. You will be sitting for DAYS for your mentor. Even if you get a mentor, he may not do everything by the book enough, get in trouble, then you will LOSE that mentor, have to sit for MORE days for another mentor! You are not getting hours all this time. They are supposed to pay you 50$ a day when sitting in hotel, then you see pay check it isn't there. Now you have to call payroll to get your money they promised you. And I talked to enough people... they do it to EVERYBODY. Experienced drivers too. Shaft them on their miles. Cheapskates that pay as little as possible to even their best people. They do their best to not pay you. My one mentor would show me the actual mileage to a destination and what they would have for the dispatch would be less, they would only assign the mileage "BETWEEN ZIP CODES" not between ACTUAL DESTINATIONS, lol. So they actually from all their drivers are skimming hundreds, maybe thousands, millions of dollars every year... crooked. BOTH of my mentors I was able to get weren't even company drivers, owner operators who play by their own rules and they're supposed to train me to be a company driver who is gonna be supervised constantly by cameras and sensors all over these company trucks... trucks governed at 62 mph so you're going slow everywhere, can't pass anyone... right."
"Ok company, just needs holiday pay."
"I have been at Swift for 4 years, started out in break down, very strong in telling what's wrong with the trucks. Then moved into logistics booking loads and selling loads to carriers, and the last spot they moved me to is intermodal to take car of customers."
"I've found it to be a good."
"Very poorly ran company. Sorry."
"I have worked for this company for about 3.5 years and it has an excellent work environment. They give plenty of oppurtunity to learn and grow our skills. Headquarted in Belgium it has about 2000 employees spread around 4 to 5 locations."
