"I found that management within Sodexo, and the company itself, take the stance of encouraging the growth and improvement of its employees. Unfortunately, I also found too much drama and an inequality in the treatment among employees. Snap judgments by managers and the inability to stand firm on a given topic permeated middle management. Communication with employees was minimal, with almost no feedback on performance and improvement."

"I disliked the lack of salary potential and inability to display my culinary talent at times."

"I would like this company to be more diverse with the menu and allow more creativity."

"I like making coffee. The location I work in is great. I lucked out as far as the client goes. The customers are all really good people; they make it easy to work hard and are well worth the effort."

"Make sure boss has time to care, the ability to make things run smoothly or at least enough creativity for a good excuse."

What don't you like about working at Sodexo?

"I don't like seeing/foreseeing problems and being powerless to fix/prevent them from happening... repeatedly! Management is too concerned with sales to bother putting any thought or consideration into placing an adequate order. Retail managers are stretched too thin to effectively manage anything; inventory, equipment, safety, product standards, attendance and even submitting accurate numbers for payroll is below their radar."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Manage! When problems arise-deal with them. Don't let them get out of hand. Work smarter so you don't keep solving the same problems, work out a solution so it's just not a problem anymore. Follow through- don't assume equipment has fixed it's self just because the complaints have stopped. Stop trying to crack the whip harder and just slow it down a bit to think things through-or just hire smarter managers..."

"Working in a collaborative environment where your suggestions for improvement are listened to and if they make good business sense the suggestion is implemented. Sodexo is a progressive organization that encourages and rewards employees for their input. It is a fast paced environment with high expectations for financial accuracy and high customer service levels."

"An applicant must not only have the required technical experience, but communication skills are essential to success. The applicant must be able to clearly and succinctly communicate their thoughts both verbally and written. Sodexo is a very large corporation with many levels of management requiring information to make well informed decisions."

What don't you like about working at Sodexo?

"The duration it takes to implement projects especially when the project required IT resources."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There is a strong need to develop and document a process to prioritize projects and to determine those projects that are more nice to have's vs. those that will benefit the business and its customers."

"Only the independence, good salary, daily customer interaction and essential functions of the industry."

"I would always get on my soapbox praising Sodexo, but now I would say that the executive decision makers overlook the ideas of their managers that are working the field every day."

What don't you like about working at Sodexo?

"Human Resource Representatives make it virtually impossible to manage our departments because Sodexo is more worried about lawsuits than the quality of life for their managers. They only have one yearly award for employees, no career ladder program and buy into ineffecient programs to protect the company that are ridiculous."

"Improve the internal career ladder by promoting from within more consistently and providing the tools to do so."

What do you like about working at Sodexo?

"The customer service we provide at the school is great. Students love the food and clothing apparel provided by my employees."

"Make sure you are applying in the right field and have the years of experience to back it up."

What don't you like about working at Sodexo?

"The fact that there is no contract for next year does not help with job security."
