What do you like about working at ACS Government Solutions Group?
"I was able to run and control the whole project, from pricing, change orders, client management, engineering, vendor management, outsourcing, manufacturing, and even collections. The entire responsibility was on the PM. I learned a great deal."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Go in with your eyes wide open. You are a number to this company, they will use you and throw you away. If you want a great challenge, to learn allot, get a divorce, and be abused like a 3 dollar hooker, there is no better place to work. But I warned you :)."
What don't you like about working at ACS Government Solutions Group?
"No support in place. Very ineffective management at the middle top layer. Provided a budget, with no resources or input and expected to deploy on that budget, in that time-frame or you were removed. When they decided to relocate they lost significant domain knowledge. Finally, dealing with the French Manufacturing program (required). They were either on strike, on holiday, or late for delivery of the product. Documentation and quality were in the order of early caveman."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Fire the managing director. Place someone in place that has people management and leadership skills. Acquire equipment locally or from known successful vendors. Standardize on product lines (like GFI) and bid as such to become competitive in the market place. Every system we deployed was custom designed from the hardware through the software. You can not design a customized solution end to end in 16 months. You can not work your team 70 hrs/week for those 16 months."

"Corporate culture lacks an respect or interest in employees or their needs. Management pursued Transformation agenda which was code for downsizing. Lack of management vision or direction."

"Very decent folks, very professional environment. They all take a lot of pride in getting it done right. They do a lot to keep you technologically up-to-date. For a junior person, this company is a Career Bliss!"

"In some areas there is more marketing than substance. The non-compete agreement is unacceptable. You'll have to emigrate in case you do not want to switch careers."

"Company is more technical and older project management based and therefore suggest prospective employees have current technical skills, for example be Revit capable. Good place for younger architects to develop their technical skills."

"Detached management, poor lines of communication, poor training. single outside design direction is not condusive to broad participation by design individuals."

"Develop a strong proceedure for bottom up and top down communication. Develop techniques for more staff/ management interaction. Be more open to creative individuals and provide an un-intimidating environment for them to work.."
