"I did not have any issues with the company, but rather just not the right location for me."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I do not have any suggestions. I think that they are doing a great job."

"My main project as a Head of the Flight Control Department at AEROS inc. finished in August and now I'm in a transition position as a Software Lead at ARINC, helping to generate the next release of the one of ARINC's Surface Transportation and Security Systems products."

"The people are good to work with and care about the work they do."

"The Richardson facility is dying at the expense of Cedar Rapids. Don't get caught in Cedar as it is a one horse town."

What don't you like about working at Rockwell Collins?

"Upper level management politics and the interference and problems they can cause without care. HR hides behind lawyers with some weasel policies that are well hidden."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There are way too many chiefs and levels of management. Some have decision power where they shouldn't and others need to let go."

"Rockwell is a strong aviation company that I have worked for the last 8 years. They are in a competitive market that is evolving and changing quickly."

"If you want to work as a software engineer, I recommend sticking to the Cedar Rapids offices. The process center software engineering group is hated by the rest of IT for the fact that it exists, although they are unwilling (or unable) to tackle the needs of the process center."

"If you love the Midwest this is your company. Best to interview when company is expanding."

"There is a local Iowa mentality that pervades over engineers not from Iowa."

"Read the performance rebuttals and learn from them to better appreciate individual effort."
