"Know your stuff... not just buzzwords. Buzzwords might get you in the door but you'll be expected to perform to very high standards, unless you're entry level."

"Slow to adapt to change. Many layers to go through to make changes."

"Stress more teamwork and supply more info as to what is going on. Not everything is need to know."

"Leadership can occasionally lack vision and get into reactive mode rather than being proactive."

"Have a clear vision of where your products need to be in 5 years and communicate that vision."

"I have worked for Rockwell Collins for 15 years as an electronics technician. I have had a good experience working there, with a few exceptions, which is the reason I went back to school to finish my BS. I would recommend working here to anybody."

"Rockwell Collins is an aerospace company with interests in the defense and commercial avionics sector. I have no experience in commercial but the government division is a very good employer, with ample work and reasonable hours. The downside is okay compensation and not much opportunity to move up quickly."

Management was not always good at providing direction and the core software product was built a while ago. Because core product was older a lot of the original developers had left and so did all their knowledge."
