"The company is very conservative and is reluctant to make any changes that would benefit them if it costs money."

"Line rearrangement, line improvements, better incentive programs for the employees to boost morale"

"Learned a new manufacturing process. Ability to call my own shots. Forward thinking organization."

"Kennametal is an overall good organization to work for. Plant sizes are on the small size and managers wear many different hats!"

"Sometimes in our plant, the concerns of the hourly employees are overlooked."

"There needs to be more attention paid to the voice of the employee surveys."

"Fast paced environment. New challenges. Hourly personnel would work with managers willing to work with them not against them."

"Have questions ready for them. Most of the persons you will interview with will not have questions for you."
What don't you like about working at Caraustar?
"Mandatory overtime for exempt salary including nights and weekends. Company often would not pay on terms normally 15 to 20 days past terms, which has a very negative impact with suppliers. Was hired as a Production Supervisor. Was given the rolls of Environmental Engineer, Process Engineer, placed in charge of the entire chemical program and promised a title change with additional compensation. After three years I left with the title Production Supervisor. Bonus program pays quarterly to hourly employees but annually for salary and normally not until the second quarter."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Terminate your Maintenance Manager and replace him with someone who will work with the company not against."

"fast paced, goal oriented manufacturing and production facility doing large and small scale promotional and packaging jobs"

"good company with lots of fast paced jobs and different jobs each project changes"

"the unwillingness to promote with in the company employees to upper management"

"a good company is only as good as its internal structure and the employees are its base"

"Great environment with excellent rapport with my manager and subordinates."

"Although you may not have all the preferred qualifications required by the hiring company, it should not prevent anybody from applying. As long as you have the motivation to lead, have a great work ethic, a people person, and the willingness to teach and learn, will make you successful in any organization."

"There is not much growth as our existing facility. My responsibilities is not equivalent to my compensation."

"Our greatest resource is our employees and must emphasize high priority in servicing our customers."

"I was given many different projects and departments to run. There was a lot of training made available to us. Anything we felt we needed to have training on was pretty much made available."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be upfront with these guys. Too many people came in there and did not live up to what the said in the interviews."
What don't you like about working at Jerr-Dan?
"They laid off 70% of the workforce including all of the management. It was a hard battle changing the culture of the company."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If something doesn't seem right check it out before its too late to change."

"The product is a very interesting product. It is an emerging market so there are a lot of opportunities."

"Only work there if the intent is for it to be a career stepping stone. This is not a place to climb the ladder."
What don't you like about working at Hexcel?
"They tend to not give raises. Even those that have an increase in responsibility (promotion) complain about not getting a raise. There is no opportunity for training either. In working here I have found that I have been trained less than my peers and am in a worse position leaving than others."

"I would suggest that management invest more in retention. They seem to not care about feelings of their people. It is all business."

"This is good company to work all time."

"Realize that this company is a growing growing company and that everything is not ran as orderly as you would like. You must come in with a mindset of being a change agent and don't lose your enthusiam just because the place smells like garlic."

"Leaving. I really enjoyed my time at VJI. I don't think I will find an employer that will care so much of personal growth as I have found at this company."
