"When the company expanded around the world we lost a little bit of the team feeling."

"I would have maintain the team intact at the facility instead of dispersing it around the world. I understand that the economic times forces companies to do so, but when we first started and we were all in the same building the camaraderie was great."

"Bad top management so Motorola lost best mobile devices manufacturer mark."

"To have a well defined projects roadmap and new well designed products."

What do you like about working at Motorola Solutions?

"The culture was alright but sometimes the management was odd or short-sided. Overall pretty good. The aspects I liked was the industry (high tech), fairly modern up-to-date facilities, famous company. Nice corporate benefits (medical, 401K, etc). They also make an effort to be a positive influence on community, for example organizing about a day per year for everyone to do volunteer work in the community (on company time), and donating products or money to disaster relief when appropriate."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I don't think there is anything special to do for Motorola compared to other companies. Standard stuff like know what's on your resume. One thing to remember is that like many large companies don't be surprised if they move slowly during the hiring process."

What don't you like about working at Motorola Solutions?

"Mentioned before - my direct boss had sub-par communication skills. I think in general many managers were promoted for their technical skills and not necessarily for their management skills."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My direct boss worked extremely hard and was fairly smart. But his communication skills needed a lot of work. I don't know much about the CEO, although I think he should have had a company meeting here at his home office. I thought it was pretty strange that he had an office here and lived here, but never setup a meeting to say hello to the employees here, but flew around the world and met with employees at other locations.I suppose he is doing alright on execution. Mixed bag."

"The company has an amazing work environment. All the co-workers were very supportive. As I was an intern they patiently taught me the job and made me excel. I am greatly indebted to Motorola Solutions."

"It is best to integrate socially as well as professionaly. Those who stay in the headend division were most often part of General Instruments."

"At this time I am not with Motorola due to downsizing related to the Google aquisition and changes in the Verizon FiOS project."

"Stay abreast of current market trends and phase out legacy technologies in step with demand."
