"To rigid and tried to get everyone to see and think the same way. They were more concerned that you did it the Federated way than that your were a success."

"The are a company of almost 5,000 people. Perhaps have more than one senior manager from outside the company."

"That they increase workplace incentives as well as upward modality. I also think that they need more than we are family outlook to increase desire to want to stay. Also increase commissions and draw."

"While Regional management are superb, mid level management is somewhat suspect."

"Middle Management should better articulate themselves, cut down on the use of sarcasm, and make a more genuine effort to invest in the well being of their direct reports."

"I liked the challenge of trying to dig a failing company out of the hole. They had been declining in sales for several years, and were looking to double in sales the year I was there."

"Negotiate your benefits and pay upfront, and make sure you understand what they are before accepting a position."
What don't you like about working at Alaniz Construction?
"The CEO wouldn't give budget for anything because of negative cash flow, so most marketing techniques were no-cost. They were heavily focused on Yellow Pages advertising and direct mail when I started, and were unwilling to try more inbound and online techniques. There were no benefits, and the company was poorly managed."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If you want to attract good talent, you need to work on your employment brand and offer competitive compensation and benefits. To keep talent, you need to recognize results."

"The people are absolutely wonderful, and I am constantly being exposed to exciting new technologies."

"You truly must be self-motivated. This is a results-based business, and they aren't big enough to have a direct manager coaching you every step of the day."

"Working multiple positions at the same time would often make it difficult to complete a single assigned task, as I am constantly working between distractions. Also, constantly driving for more results with less resources."

"Appoint a director of communications so a dedicated person can be responsible for content creation, allowing your marketing director to determine budgets, and your salespeople to sell."

"I like the people that work here and the fact that is very laid-back"
