"Excellent place to begin a career, as you can work on a diverse range of clients. The workflow is high, but this is the best way to learn. There are always opportunities to work outside your group and trying new projects is always encouraged. The Dallas culture is very accommodating of all work styles and you can work the way you want to."

What do you like about working at KPMG?

"That I was exposed to many industries and learned what I liked or disliked about each."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Honestly check yourself and see if you really can commit to 60 hours a week and no life. You will have NO support as an associate or senior associate so don't have a family until you've at least reached Manager."

What don't you like about working at KPMG?

"The combination of unreasonable expectation of work completion, too much work for not enough billable hours, drives everyone to eat hours and sandbag that project in the future."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Actually show associates and senior associates that their work product is what drives the bottom line, and show appreciation."

"Good environment until travel was over 100%."

Senior Audit

What do you like about working at KPMG?

"I worked in KPMG for little over a year and my experience has not been the best. I also worked for other Big 4 Firms and I thought KPMG lagged behind."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"KPMG should be your last choice. KPMG ranks the 4th in the Big 4 and I suggest going to other Big 4s who are more competitive!"

What don't you like about working at KPMG?

"The politics, the back-biting, the first impressions, the lack of good technology used in audits, the numerous binders used during audit."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Buy a good audit software so the company can be paperless. All Big 4s have great audit softwares, giving them flexibility, efficiencies and ease of audit. Instead of firing people, forcing them to resign so they have an image of not firing people in the market. Judging employees by how long they work vs how efficient they are. These are areas to improve on."

Senior Consultant

"Highly respectable global firm with diverse opportunities."

What do you like about working at KPMG?

"Affiliated with a global and respected firm in the accounting industry; good training and training seminars offered; above-average computer resources; my role was non-traditional and involved variety; projects were often non-recurring; worked with different people in issues that were not always tied directly to finance or accounting."

What don't you like about working at KPMG?

"Sometimes felt like it was a 'revolving door'; potential for overtime and traveling; however, I was fortunate to have most of my work assignments locally and my overtime was minimal. However, one trip I made in particular was to Houston that involved Enron, right at the time of all their publicly reported problems. I was a part of history (so to speak) as I can say I was there on a project for a time leading up to the day they closed their doors for business."
