KPMG International is a leading organization of firms specializing in professional audit, tax, and advisory services. The company’s stated purpose is to change knowledge into value for its clients, mostly other businesses and government bodies. KPMG LLP is the American branch of the larger megafirm KPMG International. This multinational Swiss cooperative is headquartered in the Netherlands, with a market spanning 150 countries with 138,000 employees. KPMG’s major international competitors are Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and PwC; the companies are referred to collectively as the Big Four auditors. The name KPMG comes from the original four independent accountants, Mr. Klynveld, Peat, Marwick, and Goerdeler, who each had their own firm. KPMG as it’s known today officially incorporated in 1987. The current Chairman is Timothy Flynn.

In the U.S., KPMG LLP’s network includes 87 branches with 23,000 employees and partners. The financial firm continually recruits graduate, newly qualified, and upper-level financial professionals to conduct business services with clients. KPMG staffs marketing, finance, HR, and IT teams, together known as the client service support branch. KPMG’s corporate describes culture is nurturing, with a focus on meeting the needs of individuals’ career development.
