What do you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"The people you work with, the products you sell and the actual facilities/office is very conducive for customer presentations and or demonstrations."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask thorough and specific questions about the territory, geographic or vertical that you will be responsible for and how you will be paid specifically (i.e. splits especially)."

What don't you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"Local leadership have little to no vision and very little strategic approaches to overcoming new prospect challenges."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be more strategic in your approach to challenges or problems or barriers to success."

What do you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"I liked the product, the co-workers and the physical office environment, especially for customer engagements."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are going into a sales position with KM, make sure you understand (by asking specific questions) the geographic or vertical territory they plan to assign you. Get a commitment on existing MIF (machines in field, i.e. - current customers) if any, that you will be responsible for. All compensation plans change from year to year, but be sure to understand your intro or ramp-up comp plan as well. Best of luck to you."

What don't you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"The biggest negative about working at KM was the lack of solid, strategic and visionary leadership both in mid-level and immediate supervisory roles. This, in turn, leads to constant turnover, as well as, individualism (for those who stay), because no one really knows (much less can buy-in) to the company vision/direction. Therefore, no one sees the benefits of a collaborative approach to solving customer problems."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If I were running the show at KM, I would change the overall culture from individualistic to team/collaborative culture where all see the benefits of winning strategically with long-term customer centric goals at the forefront of everything we do."

Konica Minolta Employee

What do you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"The customers and the technical aspect of the job."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are in sales, you will have only a short period of time to prove yourself, but that is the nature of your field. If you are applying for a technical position, you will receive training, but very little direction as it is expected that you will step up and handle a lot of that on your own. Be prepared to relocate for a promotion. The job may not be in your town. If you refuse, you will be passed up for future promotion opportunities."

What don't you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"Management's lack of planning, and communication skills. Management communicates very poorly with the technicians, often informing us of emergency customer problems at the last possible second. Email communications from manager - D+. He had the spelling and grammar of a 3rd grader. There were unrealistic metrics that forced the technicians to concentrate on calls per day, not solving the customers problems. Praise was given for those who could work the system of measurement to make themselves look good. There was no retraining, or management advice other than, Do better. The only motivation that techs had to do well was meeting the metrics. If you had a call back to a machine for any reason in 60 days, it counted against you, even if the call was a customer training problem. (i.e, customer loaded paper wrong)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Please work on communication with the technical team. I know you're doing the work of three people, but that is still no excuse for leaving everyone hanging. They deserve better. Work on preventative solutions rather than constantly putting out fires. Pretend to be on the technician's side. (that was a dig, but it hurts knowing that no one in management cares about you)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not work there as a sales rep unless you're between the ages of 21 and 27 and it's your first sales job."

What don't you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"Worst job ever. People are nice. But, every process is time consuming, redundant and you must jump through too many hoops to get a sale installed!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

What do you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"Receiving a pay check, other than that absolutley nothing at all."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Turn around, and do not look back, whatever you do; DO NOT LOOK BACK!"

What don't you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"If the numbers/goals aren't met, job security starts to creep it's way into every individuals mind."

Tax Manager

"Hostile work environment, not on the employee's side."

What do you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"Clean environment, co-workers are friendly, but you do have to watch your back. There is a lot of tattle-tails at KMBS."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are out of work and need a short term job, then it's okay, but long term it's not a place to call home."

What don't you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"Regardless of how hard you work, and regardless of the money you save the company, they are more interested that you are at your desk at 8:30 am than your job performance. They more often than not turn you down for a promotion or salary increase."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The reason you are losing good talent, is the way employees are allowed to be treated. It is more important the work get done correctly than if you are at your desk at 8:30 am. Also, when it's the day before a holiday let us go home early - all of management does, why can't the rest of us? Give starting vacation based upon the level of the employee hired, a manager who works really hard should get more than 2 weeks. Take a look a Bergen County, it is just as expensive to live here as it is in NYC, so it would be nice to receive a decent salary for the job being performed."

Copier Technician

What do you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"Trouble shooting copier machines, and solving problems with the copier's issues."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"make sure to get everything in writing before agreeing to what they say they will offer you and make sure that you understand that you will be stuck doing what you are doing for a very long time."

What don't you like about working at Konica Minolta?

"The sales staff tells the customers anything to get a sale and we have to make it happen. Management just reacts and never listens to the technicians to try and solve a problem before it becomes a major problem."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would not make numbers a priority, take in the opinions of the technicians, and offer them bonuses and or more financial compensation."
