"Extensive traveling in which we had to book and pay for air and hotel travel that was reimbursed on our expenses."

"Bigger budgets for the store facilities and all outlying parking lots."

"Working in retail was a challenge. I enjoyed the challenge."

"I would suggest to view other options. The corporation is not a well run business."

"The KMart Corporation did not support their management team."

"I would suggest that more open communication is needed. Long with follow up."

"Having an income, working with people that I get along well with, and having flexible work hours."

"Selling credit cards and having to deal with the ever increasing training."

"None for the store management but the higher ups need to know that cashiers do the best they can to sell things like credit cards and such but it can't be helped if there isn't a huge market for them."

"Fair amount of freedom in decision making. Always work to be done."

"You're only going to be there temporarily, look elsewhere for long-term employment (over 2-3 years)."

"The job is stressful; there is an unending supply of work and never enough time allotted."

"Test policies on a small scale first, and use real data from stores before making decisions (leave the office)."

"That the company closed down in Inglewood was bought out by Home Depot."

"Lunch Breaks and no shopping while on the clock or even on lunch."

"Ask a lot of questions and be prepared to work even when you are supposed to have a day off."

"Always having to go into work when someone else called in at the last minute or refused to show up at all."

"Make sure that you do not acknowledge just the ones who show up sometimes but look at the ones who are always there and on time."

"Nothing. They don't care about employees one bit. All they care about is treating people poorly and paying people nothing."

"Unless you want to be a slave, don't do it. This company is a joke and doesn't care about anybody that works there and the pay sucks. This company is the biggest joke on the planet."

"Kmart is a joke. They hire managers who are so stupid that all they're good for is talking on their phones. The only time they care and really slavedrive the employees is when corporate makes a visit."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There is a certain manager in southern NJ who is a bully and a tyrant to employees and customers. There have been complaints about her at least 100 times to corporate from customers and employees and they do nothing to her. They just turn their backs to anything she does. Anywhere else she would have been fired, but no, corporate does nothing and I hope the company disappears off the face of the earth."

What do you like about working at Kmart?

"The challenging part of a large building with all aspects of maintenance issues, with the facilities as well as the mechanical equipment (conveyors, PLC, computers)."

"Get all the information upfront. I was told my position in 3rd shift was temporary (2-3 months), that was 18 months ago."

"Insecurity about the future of the company, lack of care for the associates or their needs. It is all about production and meeting numbers."

"More interest in the well being of the associates, improving the quality of work conditions."

"Yes, be yourself, honest and reliable, hard working and determined to get the job done."

"Nothing, everybody works good together, for the benefit of the company."

"Management should all help each other to achieve profit and success."

"Lack of raises, communication could be better, almost impossible to move up in the company."

"KMart needs to stick with one plan of action, have a backup plan just in case, and stop changing policy every other week, employees are confused, which makes for unhappy customers in the end."

"I didn't have any for the manager, everything was pretty well."

"Poor management. No opportunity for advancement. Low pay rate. Poor benefits."

"Trim the fat. Raise wages. Get rid of unnecessary managers. Hire more workers."

"The company is acceptable to work for, just be prepared for a possible morale issue if working at certain distribution centers."

"I had no issues with the company, however, the building I worked in was going downhill with respect to morale and attitudes."

"Worry more about getting the job done correctly and less on just putting positive numbers in the production reports."
