"HP's front line employees and managers are outstanding. However, current corporate turnaround leadership and vision within the IT Services industry is putting an extreme strain on US-based employees. The continued push to off-shore costs further increases strain as clients do lean more heavily upon US engineers and managers. This is resulting in large number of quality employees/managers defecting HP for its competition or going back to clients who are bringing services back in house."
"Not a bad company to work for, but with all the consolidation and outsourcing that is being done in the U.S. it is starting to become somewhat ridiculous and very hard to work for."
"If you have a innovative bent of mind, HP is not the right place to work."
"HP is an excellent company."
"I have worked for Snapfish for last 6 years which gave me a lot of opportunity to own highly critical pieces of the ecommerce system. I primarily owned money flows with contributions to information flow also as inputs to my other teams."
"The political environment within HP has run unchecked and caused many folks to leave or be forced out."
"I had three good years with HP. They are a good company. Unfortunately they have experienced recent business decline. In revamping the company, workforce reduction has become a requirement."
"Company is not investing into technology innovations. Executives are firm believers that 1:1 outsourcing from US to India can be done without realizing US resources tend to pull 60+ hour work week vs 40-hour India (or Costa Rica). HP is losing significant resources across the Enterprise Services due to lack of concern for key employees."
"I have been at HP for 10 years. Lots of executive and board level turmoil in that time. Overall work environment is very flexible and work is exciting and challenging. However progress can get bogged down some times due to large company."
