"I've worked for HostGator since May of 2012. I started in Tech Support, then moved to Sales, then became the Web Production Team Manager, which is basically the manager of the Design team that is handling customers' websites. I am not currently happy at all with my compensation in this role."

"While the work environment is very relaxed and not very stressful the management is incredibly poorly informed and repeatedly as well as often makes mistakes that hurt both the company and it's employees."

"As long as you suck up to your superiors you will have a relatively easy time moving up in this company. You don't need to do your job that well, just get along with your supervisor."

"I worked with Hostgator.com from March 2008, until May 2012. As a new employee, the company offers competitive starting salaries, provides free lunches, and offers many daily food themes and provides occasional company outings. However, there is little communication between management and supervisors, and there is little opportunity to advance within the company. Also, shortly after I left, the company was sold."

"I've worked for HostGator since 2009. It's been great, however the purchase of the company by EIG has led to the downfall of this company and many others which have been purchased by EIG. I can no longer stand by product which I do not believe in."

"The company just isn't the same now that EIG runs the company and datacenter."

"I started at HostGator in 2009 and after 3 years I was forced to find a better paying position. While my supervisor was encouraging and intelligent, the other shift managers that I dealt with had limited knowledge. The largest problem with the company was the club one had to be a part of to move up in the company. The quality of your work didn't seem to matter as much as the people you partied with."

"I've worked for hostgator.com since 2012. Overall it is a good company to work for. I started as a Linux Administrator and moved my way to Systems Monitor Admin, and there is plenty of room to grow with this company."

"Great place to work, but it can be pretty stressful. If you don't have ways to deal with upset customers, it can get pretty frustrating. One thing to keep in mind, if you lose your cool, the situation will only get worse. The perks are pretty good though. The leadership knows this job is stressful, and they try to provide perks to make up for it."

"Unfortunately, Hostgator management doesn't seem to respect the thoughts of their employees or clients. Also, there are a few nice, friendly and smart supervisors but the majority have a power complex. The whole building was falling apart, including the chairs you had to sit in. Just wish they had better management."

"HostGator is one of the first jobs I ever had where, if I didn't absolutely enjoy the thought of going to work every day, I at least did not dread it. However, as much as I love the company and the people who work there, they have some serious issues they need to take care of in terms of infrastructure and management. I sincerely hope they continue to improve as they have for a number of years now and become the excellent company they should be."
