"awful work hours/vacation plans. Currently too many people for too few jobs. A dog-eat-dog place to work."

"I enjoyed the fact that I was able to not sit behind the counter all day, I would have to stop at Body Shops to talk to managers or pick up new rental vehichles from the airport on an almost daily basis."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be sure this is what you REALLY want to get into before you decide on working at Hertz. They are known for hiring recent college graduates who have no professional work experience but I felt that I was being taken advantage of."

What don't you like about working at Hertz?

"The pay was not enough for the tasks and hours involved. I enjoy working overtime at my other locations however overtime was mandatory at Hertz. Hours of operation were 7am - 6pm, Monday - Friday and Saturdays were 9am - 4pm and there were no 'shifts'. At some times I was at the location completely by myself leaving me to feel unsafe in the evenings. I also would feel unsafe having to pick up customers (complete strangers) at their homes or offices by myself. I also did not enjoy that there was much downtime where I had little or nothing to do. I like to stay busy and keep active and to me sitting at a desk waiting for the phone to ring or for a potential customer to come in is not busy enough. I also did not like the reward system, they made potential bonuses just out of reach which was very frustrating. I found it very difficult to want to have a social life after working such a long day or work week."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The Manager Trainee position is structured very well however the pay should be increased and there should be two shifts a day or alternating days of work with another employee."

"You meet so many different people, and you are always on the go!!!! it is exciting. And you have to be able to multI task!!!!"

"Yo have to have a lot of energy and have a geat personality and the willingness to learn."

"Some offices has short staff which can be terriable at times"

"Have more support from upper management"

"I liked that the majority of my co-workers were of similar backgrounds so we had a lot in common and it helped us work as a team."

"Be energetic and be ready to handle some tough customers."

"I did not like how the management was largely unorganized and rarely offered support to front line problems."

"be objective and honest to yourself....on what is you want to accomplished. and define yourself meaning of contentment and satisfaction.."

"lack of man power ,sometime's under staff ...customer service suffers and overworked employee's ....to much overtime...."

"They were very flexible with my hours and my City Manager made sure that I finished the training program in a short period of time."

"It was very sales based and some branches were harder to sell at than others."

"Staffing was an issue at times, so it would be nice to have a Utility staff member on hands at each branch."
