"I've worked for Halliburton since 2012 and I have enjoyed the type of work that I do, but I am dissatisfied with the company's lack of advancement. I also do not like the fact that I have to spend about half of my time away from my family. I also do not feel the compensation is what it should be for what I have to give up."

"I had worked for Halliburton for two years. moving from an Electro-Mechanical position to an Engineering position. The mentor program there was horrible due to the envy of the mentoring engineer. Because I was completing an MBA the engineer in question refused to share the required information of how processes worked. He was solely interested in helping those that shared the same ethnicity as himself. It provided a very strained work environment."

"I joined Halliburton with high hopes of opportunity, however within a month of joining the supply chain organization was plunged into layoffs and then reorganization (SVP of Supply Chain 'left' just before Xmas 2013) and after 4-5 months still hasn't fully appeared on the other side. Frustrating!!"

"I like the overall environment. Manager is great and understanding. It's a nice company to work for. My colleagues are nice. The thing which I really like about my team is that they use Agile methodology(Scrum), which increases the productivity along with the quality of the product."

"I generally recommend Halliburton as employer, though I am currently working in a department where fast growth is practically impossible and quantity is far more appreciated than quality."

"The employees are not valued. We are underpaid and treated as worthless."

What do you like about working at Halliburton?

"The only good thing is the benefits, and they provide all the training and equipment for you."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Halliburton will pretty much hire anyone, providing that you pass the pre-employment tests like drug testing, physical, DMV, etc. You may think it's nice to work for a big company like this, but you will get no sleep. You will always be away from your family. Halliburton is well known for underpaying its employees. Other competitors are always paying higher. Halliburton will train you from the ground up and even pay for your class A license. It's a company to give you experience, but there is no way I could retire from this place. It's full of politics, rumors, liars, and people who treat you like dirt. Everyone else is above you. You will be very tired and encouraged to falsify your log books. You will be overworked and do physical labor 12-24 hours a day. If you can consider, work for a Halliburton competitor . No job is ever going to be perfect, but this company is all about greed, and they are dangerous."

What don't you like about working at Halliburton?

"There is very bad communication, and it is very disorganized. The company cares about money and money only. Employees are replaceable, and you are not valued. People also make empty promises. People will say just enough to keep you working. The hours are very, very long. You are always tired and will work in below freezing temps, along with 110 degree-plus weather. Rain, snow, anything. It's all about the money. It is not a good environment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to your employees, and stop treating everyone like we aren't worth anything. Tell people the straight story like it is, and stop passing the buck and giving employees the run-around. Lose your attitude, and treat people like human beings."
