"I worked for Halliburton for about 9 months, the oil field isn't for everyone but those who can handle it will do well. There are slow downs and if you drive long distance during slow downs it may be worth more to find a job elsewhere as I've had to do. Eventually it picks up and Halliburton will generally re-hire people during the pick up if you left on a good note and did your job well."

Management has too many people in position who should not be managers as they have no idea what they are doing. They need to evaluate their efficiency as well as their project mangement skills. Hopefully they change as there are alot of good employees there that are leaving because of bad management."

This makes working for Halliburton cyclical at times. When the oil industry is doing well you prosper but when the market is on a downturn as it is now people will lose their jobs and hours will be cut."

Because of this, the office I work in, people I work with, and product I support are very different from the huge corporate entity. That being said, our technology is outdated and management is slow to take action."

They are also a global company with offices and hubs in many different countries which provides a good opportunity for working in different environments."

"Having worked for Halliburton for the past year it is a demanding work environment. Typical work week is around 100 hours plus. With a two week on one week off schedule. Difficult work life balance for a family and if you live more than 30 minutes from the yard it will be very difficult. Great company to break out into the oil field you will learn a lot but pay at other oil service companies is higher."
