"I really enjoyed working at Academy Studios, and learned a tremendous amount from the fabricators."

What do you like about working at Academy Studios?

"I most enjoyed the creativity of Academy Studios' team. The projects were inspiring as well. Dean Weldon solicited input from many staff regarding how the company might grow, exhibits we might develop and market, ideas for proposals. The atmosphere was casual, dogs were allowed to come to work with their owners, picnic tables outside and the lovely Novato weather made for relaxing lunches with coworkers."

What don't you like about working at Academy Studios?

"Projects tended to run over budget, creating tension. The budgets were shaved down to win work, then staff expected to create within sometimes unrealistic budgets/deadlines. The company's future seemed insecure, though that has proven an unfounded fear."

What do you like about working at Pearson?

"The fact that what I was doing was ground breaking work for e based books for college level students."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Dress appropriately, know your subject matter cold, hold eye contact and don't fidget. Remember first impressions are as important as your work."

What don't you like about working at Pearson?

"You can get lost in the shuffle its a very large corporation. You should get involved with the other groups so you can understand the overall mission of the company."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Watch for people who are just sliding by.Also recognize the potential of the workers that are giving more than 100% and challenge them with harder work."

What do you like about working at CSU Dominguez Hills?

"The thing I liked about Dominguez Hills was the team. It was a great team that always worked well together."

"Be yourself and show them your driven to be the best at what you do."

What don't you like about working at CSU Dominguez Hills?

"The fact that there is no room for growth in the graphic design field. Due to the fact that it is a student position."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None, management ran the company well. They gave good direction and were always there when we had questions."

"A couple attributes I appreciate about freeman is the Lenient work environment and the quality of their employees."

"Be aware and willing of what the demands and expectations are within the trade show industry"

What do you like about working at Global Science & Technology?

"I loved the variety of work I was doing. The staff was very friendly and supportive. The owner always had his door open to everyone."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's a great company, great people, interesting work. Make sure the promise you two weeks notice before separating you from service."

What don't you like about working at Global Science & Technology?

"What I didn't like was how I was laid off without any warning. I would have liked to negotiate to work as an independent contractor or a part-time employee. Ironically, I am now working for them again as a temporary employee through the end of March to support one of their major contracts."

"The experience I generated was invaluable in my growth as a graphic designer and professional."

"This is a great job for the start of your career to learn and grow."

What don't you like about working at MountainTop Technologies?

"You need to be able to change with the environment your in and MTT doesn't."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I'd say, know what you are getting into before accepting. Know what the company does. In the past 9 months that I've been with the company, 6 people have quit because they couldn't take the pressure."

What don't you like about working at Concept To Promotion?

"I do not like that I have barley 15 hours a week and there is not much graphics work for me to create. I am the only graphic designer there, and would love to be part of a team of designers to grow and learn from. My hours are very random; for a few months I'll work 15 hours a week and others months I'll work over 40. I need a steady job."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I like that we have no manager, because we are responsible enough to manage ourselves."

"It's in the financial industry and not where I want to be as a designer."

"Listen to your employees and create an environment people would like to be a part of."

"I like the subject matter and working with a company that is in the entertainment industry."

What don't you like about working at Phantom Fireworks?

"Every year at the 4th of July season I'm required to work in fireworks sales in one of their stores."
