"I dislike the unexpected budget cuts."

"Some project managers hired do not seem to have good PM fundamentals (my experience). So my suggestion for management is to hire better PM candidates."

"It is best to use concrete examples that demonstrate the situation as it relates to the question, accompanied with what you did about the situation, or how you went about correcting the situation, and finally, describe the end result."

"The organization consisted of a very complicated matrix, which caused confusion on priorities."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Simplify the reporting structure of the matrix organization such that the entire group has the same set of priorities and strategic direction."

"I went there for too little money--a mistake because, as a contractor, I needed enough to live in two places at once."

"Good luck. The hiring practices make no sense at all. The Chevrolet brothers, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and Walter Chrysler could apply there and they would not hire them. Then they will hire some guy from China who can't even operate a microwave oven to heat up his lunch."

What don't you like about working at General Motors?

"I do not like the backstabbing ways and pandering of the ones who move up in the company."

"GM should fire all management and start over; that is the only way to fix the company."

"This constantly changes. No help from here."

What don't you like about working at General Motors?

"I dislike the directors who don't know their employees, and the upper management who says one thing and the middle management who ignores them. I also dislike the fact that diversity takes precedent over skill and knowledge."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Take a careful look at who is running the departments and ask why Is it because they know someone or is it because they know the job and their employees. I think you will be surprised at the answer."
