"The fact that I was so young at the time and one of the senior managers the older emplyees had a real problem with so it was tough at first getting the resept I needed to do my job but I did in time get it."

"I loved getting the experience of working for one of the most widely recognized retailers in the country. I got to experience so much of what makes a great store first hand."

"Be prepared - Macy's thrives on the preparedness of its associates and managers. Being prepared to help customers with a positive attitude and ready answers or options is key."

"Career growth was pretty limited, there weren't many opportunities for advancement."

"One suggestion I would have for management is to make career growth more of a goal for its associates and departmental managers. Employees are more likely to work harder if they can see progress in their careers."

"I enjoyed the customers and my colleagues. The customers were always appreciative of the assistance that they received as a part of their shopping experience and my fellow colleagues were a dedicate group of individuals that took real pride in their work and strived to be the best at what they did."

"The only tip that I have for interviewing with this company is to always be professional in both dress and demeanor and to always keep a positive attitude."
What don't you like about working at Filene's Basement?
"The only thing that I didn't like about working at Filene's Basement is that there were some limitations in adequately merchandising the stock. Because the store that I worked at was limited in space, I felt that to have a superior shopping experience, customers needed adequate space to move around as they made their selections."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My biggest suggestion for management would be to rethink their floor plans for the departments and to continue to encourage their sales staff with incentives for productivity."
