"As executive it was extremely rewarding. I built this region from the ground up. I hired the entire management team and together we grew. I learned how to work with professional recruiters and learned a lot from them since I had only worked with Human Resource Directors as a district and school administrator. Together we nutured and supported one another. We were servicing 51 schools. I never hated the position because my regional colleagues and CEO were great to work with daily."

"I love to be the decision maker, and assuming the responsibility for good and for the opportunities to keep growing and learning for a continuous improving, looking all the time for different ways to eliminate processes waste and oversee all the operations and get the best outcome of every day. I hate when we miss our goals and we miss the opportunity of satisfying our customers."

"Being a General Manager comes with a lot more responsibility than my previous position. This comes with pros and cons, staying late being a con but being rewarded for hard work is the best pro."

"What I love the most about being General Manager is accomplishing the projects in the time scheduled and in/under the budget. Creating successful teamwork for every project is one of the most important parts of any project."

"I loved the administrative part of being the General Manager. Recruiting, Hiring, and Training each new group of sale people. Plus, aiming to achieve sales budgets, and delivering exceptional customer service. The only part of the job I disliked not being able to sell everyday."

"I love developing people to be their best. I also enjoy the challenges involved with finding the proper solutions to problems that I see coming down the road, and taking an immediate course correction. There is nothing I really hate about being GM. There are some frustrating moments, but that's true with everything. The trick is, to turn it into a positive, and make it into a gain."

"As far as running my own store I loved being in charge of the results. From department sales to store sales in general. To being the person that coaches and motivates store associates and monitoring store expenses through P&L/G&L.The only part I disliked was that the assistant manager position was eliminated in April of 2013. This added a lot more tasks to the GM's since we were the only managers in the building."

"Pro: I have a great team of 3 who is willing to go the extra mile when we are in need of getting things done. We are able to come together as a team although there are disagreements and arguments over time. Con: lord and order is expected. Sometimes this makes the work harder than it is."

"I love most working with a wide variety of real estate projects (leasing or purchasing property) and working with many different Georgia Tech folks who are my customers. I don't really hate anything about being a Real Estate General Manager, but I know I could be more productive in a corporate real estate leadership position."

"I love being a GM and am, at the risk of sounding arrogant, a fantastic one. My customers love me because I do anything I can to get them what they need. My co-workers respect me for the same reason. Bottom line is I get things done. If there is a mess, I clean it up. If sales are lagging, I rock them. If morale is low, I raise the roof."
