"They don't pay very well and they didn't care for the safety of their employees during the COVID pandemic."
"Good working environment and people are nice. Flexible schedule."
"Horrible management all around! Hide risk and wrongdoing for the sake of profit! I worked as a Manager for a year!"
"I work at GC Services Knoxville, TN for 5.5 years. The place is nasty, dusty, and dirty with a serious insect problem from the bathrooms, break rooms, carpet, desks, computers and chairs. If you have allergies, beware! The air quality is stinking, dusty and moldy. The pay is not worth it; min. wage to start unless you work in student loans, then you will make more, but still not worth it. They are such a poorly run company, that they keep losing contracts. I worked for 3 different companies in my time there and they lost another company that I did not work for. The management is the worst; they yell and scream at you while you’re on the phone trying to hear the customers. I had to go on FLMA and got terminated without any warning after 5.5 years. However, it was a blessing in disguise. I should not have stayed as long I did, it really messed up my mental health; I went into a very deep depression. I have new job paying almost twice as much and I'm getting more respect at work. I know times are tough, but GC Services is not worth it. The place needs to be out of business. Do yourself a favor and find another place to work. If you do go to work there, only stay there 6 months to a year just to get some experience and keep your resume up to date to get another job."
"This company wants the cheapest people they can do to get the job done at the minimal ability it takes to do it. Period."
"I have worked for GC Services for 1 year and 6 months. During my time with this project I had a close bond with my supervisor and co-workers. The people that worked for this company were magnificent. Even though at times there was not enough seats to work in a peaceful matter, the company made sure the employees had a spot to sit by giving up there own seats to manage the high call volume."
"The training you get is sub par. When you start out on the phones you get no help."

What do you like about working at GC Services?
"Great work environment, overall very nice people to work with. The managers are very nice and helpful when they're not overly busy. The work environment is very light hearted and friendly. Overall, minus the severe stress and anxiety involved with not hitting your (in my opinion) high budget, the company is very much worth working for and will offer great amounts of experience."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"They don't always hire for people with call center experience; lord knows I had absolutely no call center or collections experience prior to this job. Just be honest with the interviewer and you'll be fine. They dont mess around though so DO NOT tell them about another interview you might have. They want dedicated employees and people who have a strong drive and motivation.Oh and you'll have roughly 2-3 interviews with different managers. This is normal, dont think anything of it."
What don't you like about working at GC Services?
"The real problem I have with the company however is the severe turn-over rate. They go through employees VERY quickly....even good employees that just had a bad string of luck with their budget averages. They say that a account becomes VERY difficult to collect on after 1 month. When I was terminated (due to not meeting the 180,000 budget), we had not had a new placement (new batch of account from the department of education) in months...So when we hit a drought like that a lot of the good employees that just cut it that month are let go. So again, lovely company, lovely environment with nice people, but don't expect to stay very long. Overall it's nice experience if you have no call center experience or collections experience."
