"Limited by the products I can offer. Not always appropriate for clients. Not fare to advisor because of SRO rules."

"Should let advisers to start calling first before door knocking, specifically in the NE."

"Make sure your values of doing what is right for the client is align with the companies values of doing what is right for the client if it makes the company money."

"They open too many offices in areas close to each-other with little population."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Demographics are great but you have to understand them before you use them. A tourist community with 10,000 homes but 3,000 full time residents is not a true demographic."

"It is an established, well known, and leader in it's industry. They give you the tools and opportunity to make your career what you make of it."

"It's an entrepreneurial position and unless you know affluent people or are part of an established network it is almost inevitable that you will fail one day. 10% success rate and it's all up hill for the first 5 years."

"It's 100% commission and you have to find your own clients."

"Lead Generation support and to many offices working same area."

"Increase the time of wage support to give adviser a chance to succeed and more distance between Offices. Also be more open with adviser when recommending taking over existing offices."

"Great learning experience, but not enough time"
What do you like about working at Ameriprise Financial?
"This is the second company that I have started as a financial analyst. The first gave you an intensive one week course to learn how to sell and then there model depended on you going door to door.ameriprise gave you training in a ten week period and it was better because it was spread out and you could learn."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Hit the ground running and know where your natural market is."
What don't you like about working at Ameriprise Financial?
"The biggest problem is they only give you ten weeks to get ten clients and $10,000. So unless you have a large family or already have a business it is very hard. By the time you are ready with the training to accomplish something it is time to leave."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Extend the time after the training so an individual has the opportunity to succeed."
