"Nothing, the management, most of the upper management have no idea how to make money or build and run a business, it is just a good old boy and girl network now, full of foreigners that have come over on green cards and now making their own good old boy network."

"Be prepared to be expected to put in extra time to take initiative while maintaining all the duties of your assigned work."

"Great people, even as work declines they come up with educational projects to work on."

"I entered late into the shuttle program, work was not intensive, as it once was."

"The early team was the best people I ever met. Things were AWESOME for a long time. Best job I had - ever."

"Depends on department big time. I'd say it's a gamble and it does not really matter much how you act or what you say on the interview. Having some kind of star dust might help, I guess."

"Killing the rare alive thing (that took some effort to build) might seem like a questionable idea in perspective, so maybe think twice next time"

"Don't go. Google it, talk to people who left (those are easy to find, I was bumping into many)."

"None. They know what they are doing and they will eventually pay for what they are doing."

"The company lacked direction and management, did not want to listen to the engineering team. The subsequently went out of business in the San Diego market."

"Great company, but limited pay for the hours that had to be completed. But great career experience."

"Experience and training. The sky was the limit, no cap on training or travel for ongoing learning."

"It's a great company to start out at, especially if you're into learning new things."

"I wasn't a fan of getting scheduled 70 hours per week, with no overtime or higher bonuses."

"There are plenty of different projects and jobs available that the work never gets boring."

"Be sure to demonstrate the specific skills you have because it will make it easier for management to place you in a position that you like and they could benefit from."
What don't you like about working at Birk Manufacturing?
"Some of the employees in the actual manufacturing department are not well educated and lack the professionalism that is required to work with the engineering department and those that consider themselves professionals in the office. So there is a bit of barrier between those that manufacture and those of us that work(ed) in the office."

"Management should try to open that barrier between the employees in the manufacturing department and the employees in the office so the whole company could work better together."
