Suggestions for management would be to actually listen to the employees, instead of staying at arms-length away and taking the stance of management knows what is best. The employees on the floor everyday know the equipment and processes like the back of their hands and know what is and is not possible to run in the equipment. Also, the employees hear the customer complaints and have unheard solutions to the ongoing problems. On top of all this, proper compensation and rewards for outstanding employees is a requirement to building and sustaining a top notch workforce.
I would suggest re-instating educational assistance benefits. I would also suggest that the company perform more process improvement audits that gives internal audit more of a chance to help improve the company as opposing to ensure it is SOX compliant only.
