"Distance from family for me has been the toughest part My role with the company has let us 1000 miles from our nearest family which has been hard on my family. The company however is great."

"Think big and then double it. Thats where they are going."

"Negotiate exit strategy and compensation carefully. Agreements will almost always be to the benefit of the company."

"As it was a family run business, there was no room for growth or advancement."

"Listen more to the employees and recognize the issues. When moral is low, don't just provide lip service. People AREN'T expendable nor easily replaceable."

"That I didn't get a bonus while others were getting bonuses derived from my work."

"The mgmt of the firm was really siloed and they rarely talked with each other. A lot of closets with skeletons."

"Taking 50% cut in prior salary to work in this non-profit organization was very difficult for my family."

"Continue serving as they do now. Only constructive recommendation would be to continue to identify alternative avenues for fund raising. It has been over 5 years since any raises have been given in organization, and the employees are very deserving of compensation meeting their incredible hard work."

"Company is currently searching to find itself. It has recently shed its branded business and reiterated a committment to private labels; however, it continues to not focus on maximizing the inherent brand a customer feels in the private label they put on their shelves."

"The current reorganization has left the company not focused on customer value. My new role (Director of Emerging Technology) seems to be interesting; however, I am not confident the business will embrace and apply."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Ensure all groups focused on customer value and waste reduction vs paying lip service to the concept. Waste reduction is different than cost cutting. Waste reduction focuses on identifying and maximizing customer value which ensures a healthy bottom line to the shareholder."
