"Show up to an interview understanding what the business does and who the clients are. You need to make sure that you can work in a very liberal environment."
What don't you like about working at Share Group?
"There is a lack of professional technical employees. II is a very challenging environment to work with low rewards."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"We need to create an environment so that people are rewarded and identified for their efforts. There needs to be a better understanding from the management team of how the organization works."
What do you like about working at Youth For Understanding?
"Technically, it is one of the most challenging positions I have ever taken. Rather than building the software and systems, I am taking a 50+ year old organization and replacing all the paper workflow processes with software we are developing in-house. At the same time, I am completely rebuilding the infrastructure as well."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"The goals of the organization are wonderful and incredibly rewarding. Make sure that what you want to accomplish is possible and try to get a sense of how you will be affected by all the conflict that is internal to the organization."
What don't you like about working at Youth For Understanding?
"The culture is an outgrowth of the lack of leadership and organization mission. There are 10+ directors and they do not work together. The overall environment is one of disharmony and open antagonism towards others."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I have suggested many times that the CEO should engage a coach and the organizational chart changed a bit so that it is not so flat at the director tier. Lastly, I am leading an effort to develop a real and tangible organization plan that spans three years."

"Very much my own environment - complete autonomy in selecting hardware/software to work with"

"As an IT professional I would advise against it, but if you do be prepared to know a lot about a lot of different aspects of MIS/IT"

"Far too much workload for one person, especially for the rate of pay"

"I would suggest either making the commitment to IT or divesting it altogether - the department is in limbo at this point"

"I have no tips or other suggestions; sadly this company will soon be dissolving because of a recent acquisition."

"Honestly, nothing. This has been an exceptional company to work for, and if it were not for the recent acquisition, I would be staying here."

"They have a great vision for their primary product. If they can get everyone else on the bandwagon the company will break out and be a big company."

"understand that this company is like a 30 year old start up and is run like one. There are risks associated with a start up company."

"Their is no Mentor ship from the top. There is too much management and not enough workers."

"I would trim the management team director level a bit more."

"None. They lied about the role and responsibility and executive support the role wold receive in order for the person filling the role could be successful"

"Be sure to get everything in writing including the executive support that they agreed to provide for the role you are applying for."

"Lack of vision and strategic direction. What they have they don't have alignment with therefore there is a lot of confusion and missed business targets."

"To be honest and fulfill their commitment. To development a corporate strategy that aligns with the goals of the company then agree with it."
