"It was a start up company and I was the 3rd employee. I got to form the policies, procedures, set up the benefits, etc. Got to learn a ton and expand my abilities."

"Be personable, energetic and driven. Dress professionally and know a lot about government contracting."
What don't you like about working at Illumination Works?
"Completely tied to government contracts so if a contract ran out, we would loose business"

"To spread some tasks out to a couple of people instead of relying on one person to cover to many items."

"it was an uphill battle to understand and build an industry that didn't previously exist but I couldn't have picked a better team to do it with."

"The mission of saving lives. The sense of family felt by the workers."

"There is very little autonomy in the region I worked. The company as a whole is very employee oriented, however, I would suggest you seek employment at other locations."

"The regional control and micromanagement. The focus on mistakes and the lack of support for the initiatives you implement. There is a lot of talk about empowering employees, but in reality there is no empowerment."

"Loosen up. Include managerial employees in the strategic planning process. Listen to employees. Don't be insulted when employees disagree with your ideas."
