"Always something new going on there and a very fun group of people to work with. If I had the opportunity to ever be a part of the store planning group again and work full time, I would take it."

"CVS is a strong publicly traded company. Although hourly employees' pay is not sufficient, management is compensated appropriately. This has resulted in a continuous re-hiring process for store managers. As soon as someone is trained and effective, hourly employees typically leave for a higher paying retail company."

CVS Employee

"I love my actual job but hate the company. CVS is a terrible employer. They have very little ethical behavior. They have cut the store hours to ridiculous number making any kind of store upkeep and jobs that have to get done impossible. The company is making money hand over fist but the store level sees none of it. The CEO makes 420 times what the average employee makes. The worst in the country. The company is pure greed for the upper levels."

Vendor Services Associate

What do you like about working at CVS?

"I liked the co-workers and vendors I got to work with every day. I also liked the low stress level at CVS Caremark."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Research what other temps are being paid for said position and then negotiate for it in your interview."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"The pay scale was unfair. Most of the employees, including myself were temps (through various temp agencies) and even though we all had the same job, we had different pay rates. I also thought that not being hired permanently and being a temp for a year and a half was unfair. Some temps, were temps for over five years with no chance of being hired permanently. Being a temp, you do not receive the same benefits as a permanent employee (like paid sick days and holidays)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would consider how my decisions would not only affect my clients, but how they would affect my employees. I believe a happy employee, is more apt to be loyal and will always give 100% effort to the company."

What do you like about working at CVS?

"I enjoyed the knowledge I gained about medications. Also the great employees and supportive boss."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"You do so much but don't get paid as well as you should. I do everything from typing scripts, dealing with 3rd party billing issues, and calling Dr's offices and filling in different stores just to make 40 hours. Also there are no benefits."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pay the technicians more and if they are working full time, they should be allowed benefits just like everyone else."

Shift Supervisor

What do you like about working at CVS?

"I like the fact that I get to be on my feet and that the healthcare at CVS Pharmacy is above average for the type of work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If applying for a cashier job make sure you are very friendly and outgoing. If applying for a shift supervisor make sure you come in being personable and polite."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"There are long hours for your low salary and I had to work every single holiday, Its very hard to get time off and work/ life balance is somewhat hard to manage."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Would make sure the every employee felt valued and made sure that promises that were made were kept. Furthermore, time off would be given and be given fairly for family life would not be ruined! Note to CVS, no one shops CVS on Thanksgiving or Christmas, no reason why upper management have it off and make store staff work terrible hours!"

Pharmacy Technician

What do you like about working at CVS?

"I enjoy knowing that I am helping people in some way, and I enjoy communicating with patients and helping them coordinate their health care. It is very satisfying to have a job that allows you to hold so much responsibility. The company also offers nice health benefits, which is a major plus."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are considering working for CVS Pharmacy, know that you will be working with the public on a daily basis. You will see all kinds of people in all different states of health (physical and mental). This means that strong customer service (even despite stressful situations) is KEY. Especially in busy locations, patience is HUGE and you must always remember to put the customer first, no matter how difficult he/she may be."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"I dislike the micromanaging that we sometimes face from higher ups. Also, while working closely with patients and other health care professionals in order to coordinate care can be rewarding, it can also be very stressful. Anytime your job involves working with other people or providing a service to people, there is a posibility for friction. I have also been extremely disappointed with the perceived lack of caring and the difficulty I have had with communicating with the company's HR. Another point of frustration is the fact that being a pharmacy technician does not easily pay the bills. Starting pay is minimal, and there is little room for pay increase."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"While I understand that the pharmacy is a business and must remain profitable to remain intact, I feel that this too often becomes the focus when, instead, the top priority should always be to provide patients with quality and pleasant health care service. I feel that micromanaging (which is often done to ensure optimum business profit) can step in the way of patient care sometimes, as it drains our time and energy, thus working against the business in the end."

"I started as a UX designer for the mobile app at CVS Pharmacy in April 2018. The company was on the verge of redefining their mobile app experience. They were also in the transition from waterfall methodology to agile/lean methodologies. Some of the teams were already pods, some of them "CVS Agile", some of them "CVS Scrum", and other "CVS XP". The mobile app pod was an "Extreme Programming" and I use the quotes since it wasn't a true pod. As time passed by, I advocate for best practices in the agile way of doing things and it got to a point where I became the lead UX of the pod and point of reference of how things should be done. Most of the directors, managers, and developers didn't have a clue of what the agile mindset was. In the end, I did what was possible on getting the CVS customer the experience they needed. It was hard since most of the VP's and directors of the company wanted a different experience."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Good place to get your feet wet in corporate america, but don't stay too long or your vision of corporate america will be warped for the worse."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"The politics associated with needing to be a brown noser versus good employee at CVS Caremark upsets me."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Review people for the value that they bring, and not for how much they flirt with you."
