"The potential to grow in different areas of the company if you have the means to obtain the training and experience they value. From a technician's perspective, there is Telephony, Video, Data, and soon Cellular. The growth potential is limited to where you are geographically."

"I love everything about Cox Communications. My problem is that Corporate Headquarters is not here and the good jobs tend to go there."

"they will invest tons of money to grow an individual to be the best they can and once that goal is reached they drop the ball on doing what is need to keep that individual from seeking other opportunities"

"As an employee of this company, you received benefits from day one. Not many companies do this. This company also listens to the concerns of their employees."

"They did not have an office in NY that offered a position that I could transfer to."

"The cut throat atmosphere and lack of education by supervisors and managers. It's an old boys club and that is why there market share tumbled like an egg off a wall."

"Hire qualified, open minded diverse employees. Prepare upper management to be forward thinking and less racist in their actions, reactions and decision making."

"Upward mobility only after tenure (usually 6 years at present position to be considered"

"Focus more on quality that quantity. A job done well the first time does not require rework."

"My fellow techs and supervisor. We stuck to together and that made those mundane meetings and the (truly they were) lies being feed to us bearable. I have never seen a company loose they market position so quickly form indecisive management. Now it is all about skin and bones. They are beyond lean and mean."

"Good luck! Other markets are not as poorly run as NOVA. Overall the company makes money in markets were they are seen in a more positive light."

What don't you like about working at Cox Communications?

"The fact that those in charge have no clue to what is involved in with building and servicing a network. All they see is numbers. They want to base a system analysis off of updated and newer plant designs, to a market that NEVER had any physical plant upgrades. Piece meal at best. The inability to write a contract for contractors and lack of supervision or conformation the work was ever done."
