"I loved being knowledgeable and assisting customers with system repairs or upgrades. My favorite time of year was Christmas, and several of my customers returned to me specifically for my advice."

"I recommend that you be passionate about working in a retail environment and that you be motivated to make sales instead of relationships. In the end that is how your success with the company will be measured."
What don't you like about working at CompUSA?
"I was overworked and underpaid, and in the end was laid off for not being able to perform the work requested. This was a high stress environment where you were measured not by the quality of your service, but by the quantity. A focus on sales, regardless of whether the customer needed it or not. I couldn't hold with those ideals."

"Shift your focus toward customer support and show recognition for employees that have initiative to improve brand name."

"I loved every aspect of working for Comp. I never worked there full time - I was always in school while they were open. It was PERFECT for a part time college kid."

"CompUSA was bought by TigerDirect, and went out of business closing many of their locations, I would not pursue a career with them at this time."

"Understand who you are hiring, most of your workers unless in management themselves are young kids and you cannot set a bar that they cannot achieve without experience, if the company is pressuring you, alleviate that pressure through better education on the job, not just passing it on."

"Management will lie to you about compensation. Most Account Managers earn less than 40k total per year"
What don't you like about working at CompUSA?
"High Stress and Low Pay. Management judges you solely on outbound Phone Calls and not how productive or profitable you may be by making less calls than the desired number of 75 minimum outbound calls per day."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management does not listen to the rank and file employee so why bother. They find new ways to cut your pay by using Claimed vs. Non Claimed Accounts and Extranet Orders from YOUR customers sometimes pay you NO COMMISSION at all if they are not Claimed. They also charge the Account Managers 2% for their Accounts that use American Express. Management treats the Account Managers so bad that most do not last very long, they lose an average of more than 1 per week."

"Have a back-up plan in case they decide to close all of the stores in your area."
