"This was a very challenging job but allowed a lot of creativity"
What do you like about working at TEKIA?
"The purpose of the company was to sell the company. In doing that we created a strategy of developing new products and patents. Accomplishing these goals was a major achievement. We had the new accommodating Intraocular lens CE approved in 2005 and the patent for the product was issued in July, 2012. Also worked on a new material and several other designs.I put together a presentation and we presented the company to several potential investoors"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Someone interviewing with the company should realize that the company is a private label manufacturer and does not have the marketing and other resources make the company different"
What don't you like about working at TEKIA?
"Since I was the only financial person, I did all the accounting work to save money to work on new materials and products"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"When the president presented the company the investors could see that he was building the company to sell it rather than presenting it as an on-going operating company that was going to achieve its growth potential."

"Fast paced, high growth, entrepreneurial, intelligent management team, fun environment."

"Understand the European markets, be open minded, know the business."

What do you like about working at American Micro Steel?
"It's exciting to think that we might start up a company that we can fashion our own way from the ground up. Also, providing additional jobs in Puerto Rico feels right."

"Make sure you have enough savings because youre not going to get paid for awhile."

"Having trouble getting additional seed money, I'm not getting paid and I have to pay for travel out of pocket."

"Get the seed money so we can get the lawyers back to work and make this happen!"

"It's a great company. Good luck! Be ready to do anything and everything to ensure success. Jobs aren't delegated based on a hierarchy, like some Architectural firms. Everyone will get their hands dirty with menial tasks from time to time."

"I liked everything about it, but I was the only board member with a different last name. That was a challenge at times."

"Control spending and stay away from Real Estate. The owner had a soft spot for real estate investment, but I used to encourage him to stick with core competencies."
