"I have worked for Cbeyond for almost 7 years and was a SR. OPS Manager. I led a team of 45 and had 1 remote office in Denver. We supported 60,000 customers for all voice, data and applications using leased LEC lines (T1 and Fiber). The company's SLT made poor decisions that affected the overall revenue for 2013 which led to laying off many people. We also started outsourcing our job functions to Manila. I would have enjoyed to continue to work for this company however that is not possible now."

"Cbeyond is a great company to work for if you are seeking your first job in the IT Support/Call Center arena. The pay is low and micro-management is high (sometimes a necessary evil for younger workers). Be prepared to either move up or move out after 1 year. Cbeyond recently opened up a Call Center in The Philippines and may be moving their lower-level Call Center Support there,"

"I've worked for Cbeyond since 2010. I found it to be a marginally stable company with few advancement opportunities. People do make lateral moves, but few actually advance. It is one of the lowest paying companies of its size I have ever worked for. They have historically retained employees due to their low layoff rate which is changing due to high customer churn and low number of new customers. Cbeyond has an extreme number of new customer complaints and should be looked at with caution."

"Starting in July until now I have found that this job isn't for the faint at heart. It's a lot of hard work, and patience needed. Overall it's a great company to work for and they do take care of their employees. With that being said if you are just getting into sales, this isn't the company to start with. You need to have experience in sales before coming in."

"Cbeyond is going through very dramatic growth changes. You absolutely want to be as far away from Cbeyond as possible during this time because they do not care about you or anyone else around you as it's all about the numbers. Every three months 100+ sales people get fired and a new slew of them are brought in, once they realized that was bad for sales/long term they slowed that down and started doing it to other areas of the company instead. Very bad place to work, I'm anxious to leave."

"Get a good salary coming in. It is pretty negotiable."

"Way too much work to be able to complete on a daily basis."

"Hire more people, become less process oriented, and solve the issues. Place less importance on the number and time it takes to close tickets."

"People are willing to help each other out. Closing is a very important skill to master and the training for closing is first rate. Learning experience and growth potential at the company are both good, and you feel like your success depends on you."

"The expectations they set at the interviews about what the job entails are accurate. However, the expectations they set regarding the average first year compensation is off base no matter how you look at company records."

What don't you like about working at Cbeyond?

"There are times when the micro-management of the sales force gets to be a bit over the top and you feel some distrust between the managers and the sales reps below them."

"Cbeyond is the time of company environment that is filled with people that are driven, motivated, and upbeat.You definitely need those qualities."

"There is nothing I don't like about working with Cbeyond. I am truly sad that they are eliminating my position."

"There is nothing I would suggest to management. We have great communication with eachother and that helps remendously."
