"If they are offering too little, don't be afraid to ask for more and stand firm. They do this more to fresh college students who are less experienced with what's fair wage."

"The pay is below the industry standard. They try to sell you on the marginally better benefits, but I'm more about the pay anyway."

"I would be more direct and tell the truth. Too many times they cut something and try to sell a smoke and mirrors benefit, over a bigger loss. Sure a few are fooled, but we're not stupid. You only lose respect that way. Especially when you make it a point to hire 'smart' people."
