"Off shift premium hasn't increased since 1995.Favoritism. Good ideas get shot down. Blue collar shift workers are looked down upon by management. High demand of our off time. Having to save vacation for the end of the year shut down really stinks."

"Every thing isn't roses as you'd like to believe. Wake up and really listen to what we have to say. Concrete changes not touchy feely change agent stuff."

"At the time that I worked there, employees with Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degrees were at a disadvantage for career advancement when compared to PhD Chemists."

"Consider a wider variety of educational backgrounds for career advancement opportunities."
"Very good Company, with good products. However, some divisions lack good senior management. In these areas, counter productive politics run rampant."

"In the manufacturing areas I was in (4 different ones) the average workers and front line managers were well above average."

"Good company, good products. But if you don't enjoy politics, make sure your manager is aware, or your department could be the next scapegoat."
What don't you like about working at BASF?
"A German culture where it is dificult to admit to problems, when you do not have a solution yet, was ok because their technical people were very driven and resourcefull. This was warped in America to, the managers creating problems they could resolve, to make themselves look needed, and to marginalize many of the technically competant."

"360 degree reviews, and pay for performance. These were both attempted, and quickly abandoned, because of the truth it brought to the light."
