"I worked at the Bank of New York as a part time job while I was going to school."
"I worked at the Bank of New York Mellon as a Senior Embedded Control Officer and was based in Chicago. The Bank of New York Mellon is a global leader in providing a comprehensive array of services that enable institutions and individuals to service and manage their financial assets. I found the Bank of New York Mellon is in transition with the services they offer to clients and the objectives driven by executive management. While I think there is opportunity to excel and grow within the bank, the locations of those positions are very limited. The bank’s objective to expand internationally rather than domestically has limited the growth opportunities within the United States. While the group I worked in was in transition, there was a great synergy with my colleagues. Managers were always easy to approach with questions or issues. I view the bank has a friendly work environment and culture."

"POLITICS POLITICS POLITICS and did I mention POLITICS. No real direction"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Let us do our jobs. Stop the rush and organize"
"This is a company that is "safe." The growth attainable in this firm is based on politics, connections, and many years working there rather than from expertise and knowledge. The most recent organization shifts have lead to serious issues in the firm for all levels."
"I've only worked for BNY Mellon for a couple months and it hasn't been made out to be what some people have told me. The pay is very low and they never gave me a chance to negotiate it. I have a manager that likes to micro manage a lot. Other people in my work office aren't very friendly, it just overall has been a bad experience."
"I have been with BNY Mellon for over 3 years. My direct supervisor and co-workers are incredibly kind and make it a comfortable work environment. However, the organization lacks innovation and creative ideas, the company seems to be stuck in neutral. The technology available to employees is very poor, and it is very hard to move up in the corporate ladder."
"n/a no comment. it's a s&p 500 company"
"Great company. Poor management. In my time with BNY Mellon I have not seen any positive changes from management. Through lack of transparency and lack of desire to change technologically, I and other team members have grown frustrated with the company."
"I worked for PNC originally. BNY purchase of our division ruined the work environment and stifled growth."
"I worked for this company for 3 years starting in the Call Center. This is not an easy job. You are constantly plugged into the phones and cannot leave your phone without permission. Your breaks and lunch periods are scheduled for you and your phone is constantly monitored by a system and the system accounts for each minute you are on a call, not on a call, late getting back from break or lunch. And you will hear about it..."
"Been working in this same position for 4 years. Getting very bored with job function, but cannot seem to move up. Management plays favorites. Moving up in company is difficult."
