"Basically, I feel like there are impossible standards being demanded of employees, where management is not held to the same standards."

"Don't believe a word they say. It is just like every other retail outlet. It's a numbers game, and only the sharks are promoted."

"The managers micromanage way too much. We are looked down upon and directed at every turn and rarely given positive feedback. The managers are also very bad about taking feedback from underlings. I also don't think they recognize the talent effectively on the floor."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Move back to the older model of customer service first. Let the products and the service do the selling, and focus less on numbers and profits."
What do you like about working at Apple?
"I enjoy being around my colleagues. We have a fun time with all the stress. We really are a big family. Occasionally, you get a really cool person who you can really make their day and help them out. That makes you feel good about your job."

"It's still a job in retail; don't forget that. Do your best to make a name for yourself quickly and find out what you want to do quickly within the company, or else you'll get stuck."

"They shut down any ideas that you have to improve the company. They say that they will think about making a change, but nothing really happens and it gets pushed aside."

"Work directly with the first line sales team, because they are the ones bringing in the money, and if changes need to be made, this is where Apple needs to start right away."

"It truly is one of the more admirable companies ever. Their products are second to none, and it is great to be a part of that."

"It's really all about your energy. They're more than willing to train you, but you've got to show yourself as a positive person who is teachable."

"Working at home 100% of the time has created a big communications breakdown, and an absence of any feeling of teamwork or community/culture. It is extremely isolating."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"There needs to be more communication between departments. If our department has a problem that is caused or could be corrected by another department, management frequently has no idea how to reach that other department, and way too many people have to be involved to accomplish relatively simple tasks. More use of video conferencing would also be a plus. When everything is done by chat, poor written communication skills can lead to misunderstandings."

"I get a good experience in a variety of areas and get to work with people with a different mindset."
