"AAM is the worst company to work for. The micro management there is way out of control. That company is a revolving door. They can’t hold on to people. No one wants to work there. Their HR leader is horrendous! She knows nothing about HR so they gave her a VP of HR role. She is threatened by the good HR people so she fires them. This is why they can’t hold on to people. I worked at Corporate and wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy."
"The company requires to do a better job in evaluating their top and middle management"
"American Axle is a great company to work for. You work with amazing individuals who help you in any way they can. I believe you must be passionate about automotive to be passionate about your work at the company."
"Poor work-life balance but the pay is good and you are compensated for some of your overtime. resources to complete your job are sparsely given out. Specific departments get more attention and have an easier time completing their task as a result."
"I worked for American Axle for less than a year but learned a great deal during my time there. I had exposure to various different product offerings and departments. My team was filled with awesome people who wanted me to succeed."
"I worked for AAM six months. My immediate supervisor was knowledgeable and a great manager of people. The upper management was incompetent and the incompetence forced mass layoffs during a time of great economic gain. I am looking for a better company to commit to for the long term."
"I've found the company to be a strong and grounded international organization. I'm proud of my experience and the knowledge and skilled obtain through my years with the organization."
"Not a good company to work for especially if your looking to excel in your career. The leadership decisions that are made make you think “are they trying to close the doors and run this place into the ground?” They treat the employees on the floor like ***shit*** and the benefits are horrible unless you have a lot of money saved up for any medical expenses then I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy."
"Company was founded under an iron fist, and continues to be run the same way. Micro- management to the extreme, with many silos that don't don't work or communicate well. Work-Life balance is non-existent."
