"The work is fairly easy. The commute is not very far. My work/life balance is very good."

"Be a shark. Stab people in the back. Suck up to everyone, insincerely. Don't expect your compensation to grow naturally each year, it won't. Be a jerk, get ahead!"

What don't you like about working at AIG?

"Inexperience and naivete make it difficult to be productive. Much of my work is a waste of time, I either create spec work that goes nowhere or is unneeded or I deal with inefficient work flows."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would never want to run the show, but if I were, I'd stop alienating employees from management level."

"AIG is a very large international company and is constantly striving to be a leader in the insurance industry worldwide."

"Be yourself, be honest and be ready to work for a great company if selected."

What don't you like about working at AIG?

"Due to the previous financial instability of the American economy in 2008, AIG was very hard hit. Jobs have been cut, including mine in the restructuring process. This is live up to the commitment and repays the debt in full and quickly."

"To keep moving in a positive direction to build the company and keep leaps ahead of the competition."

"I liked the people and the applications that I managed."

"Since everyone in the IS department is being laid off there will be no need to interview at this company."

What don't you like about working at AIG?

"It was a small company with little opportunity for advancement."

"AIG provided opportunity to learn and create. Innovation and creative solutions were always encouraged in my group."

"Most departments do not look for top notch technical skills, pleasant personality and being team player is a big plus."

What don't you like about working at AIG?

"Lack of strategic vision in IT investments. Most of planning was targeted towards putting out fires rather than strategic goals to improve over all infrastructure. Hire more managers who have passion for the field they manage."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Invest more into engineering and system architecture and less into Root Cause Analysis."

"The amount of autonomy that I enjoyed as an employee."

"During the interview process, you shadow an employee for about an hour and get first hand knowledge of the kind of work you will be performing."

What don't you like about working at AIG?

"Compensation wasn't enough for the job performed and some of the expectations were a little unrealistic and got in the way of providing good customer care."

"Provide more support for the employees, and solve problems regarding quality and control."

"The company has really good work life balance. It allows you to be able to have a life outside of work."

"Who you work with is really important. Make sure that you can get along with the people you will be working with."

"Job satisfaction is missing. Morale is also pretty low in many groups."

"I would try to promote internally where possible rather than hiring from the outside. Further, I would enact job rotation programs to stimulate individual growth."

"It's willingness and readiness to trust employees with difficult tasks."

"Be perfectly honest and ask a lot of relevant questions."

"Sometimes there are too many business development clients in the pipeline at the same time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Have a sound sales and marketing philosophy. Products (and services) don't sell themselves - unless supported by programs. A lack of programs point to an absence of understanding. Go to new markets in new countries. If you don't, your world will remain flat."

"Great company to work for. I only left because they didn't have someone to supervise me when I moved to MS."

"They are great to work for. Know your business, be yourself and be confident."

"The only problem I ran into was when the parent company hit a financial crisis. That affected our reputation."

"I believe they have corrected the situation that caused their problem."

"Heavy inperson and phone injury and property damage settlements."

"Great location. The people I worked with were great and I still consider them friends."

"AIG no longer sells personal lines claims and is no longer available."

"AIG was a failing company that did not have any money to budget. They did not communicate with us well."

"Eventually the company merged with 21st and then AIG stock failed. Most managers were laid off."

"When you love what you do, you never feel like you work."

"It is all in self-belief, When you think you can, you have already achieved half the success."

"Its all in attitude. When you smile, the world smiles with you."
