"I worked for AAA staffing in 2013; it was a great place to be located at. The desk clerks were very adamant about getting work past to me in a decent time to make to the job site easy and on time. They where also friendly in doing so. Everyday I looked forward to going to work; to use my tools; so that I could use them the proper way."

"The time I spent working at AAA was impactful and gave me a broader understanding of what it takes to be detailed oriented and effective in time management all while giving stellar service. "AAA has a legendary name and service but is lacking in keeping up with expectations of members and employees alike due to budget shortcomings on technology and outdated facilities limiting the employees ability to assist it's members. Leadership is lacking drastically in female presence."

"The Automobile Club of Southern California offers a variety of departments ranging from a full service travel agency to a legal department. Growth within the company is encouraged and after 5 years of service, one is fully vested. As an employee, you are entitled to many discounts as well as sponsored evenings at local sporting events and theme parks."

"Overall AAA is a good company. They are not for profit so I believe the way they handle things are a little different. You get a few holidays off, no they are not paid, and no vacation time paid. You can make a bunch of money there bu also risk the fact of losing it next month or maybe even 8 months down the line. Whenever your insured decides to cancel during their policy effective date. There are good managers, great managers and not so good managers. Just pray you get on the right team. Their trainings was great and they are now improving that as well. Everything is still done pretty old school on the sales side we use a lot of paper and I mean a lot."

"The management is very terrible. My former manager did not provide training to me or my coworkers and constantly berated us for it. This person is known to be very terrible to work with. In addition, this kind of attitude really shows throughout the company culture."

"The accounting department is large (85+), mainly insurance and motor club accountants, whom are family oriented. There is generally a low turn over rate. However, expect to work weekends and overtime January through May."

"If you are thinking about a career at Autoclub of Southern California I would think long and hard. I worked for them for over 25 years. The last 5 years there were hell on earth. They have morphed into a corporate monster that has no respect for their workforce. What matters to them is profit even though they hide behind a non-profit status. And you the employee have to cross sell everything under the moon to its members and if you are not successful they will terminate you. I left on an early retirement and I pity anyone who can't!"

"Comically overworked. Not enough staff. You will be set up to fail. You will be given more work than can be completed in a given week and then chastised for going over-time. Working off the clock in secret and through breaks seems to be the norm as everyone is more terrified at losing their jobs than accounting for their actual workload."

"The only positive that I have about this company is that if you like being a drone and just get on all fours for your management, you can be here for decades. You can have a mediocre job for life in their technology department.THE BIGGEST FAILURE POINT of this company is the MANAGEMENT - from top execs to middle to floor supervisors, this company's management chain is full of utterly useless morons. They manage from a point of fear and contempt of their front line workers."

"Great company, easy to get behind such a strong brand. Very little opportunity for advancement in a lot of areas because people stay long term. Unless someone dies or retires, it is hard to move up in a lot of situations."

Dispatch Supervisor

What do you like about working at AAA?

"The environment was fast-paced. I supervised a staff of 25 in a 24/7 production operation, and there were always issues that required immediate attention or action."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Use the advice and counsel of the human resources consultant to obtain guidance on the internal culture works."

What don't you like about working at AAA?

"The staff I supervised was resistant to any form of changing their established practices. When I first arrived, all processors worked at a single station. I saw the need for operators to be cross-trained on all processing stations. After several months of resistance, many memos to upper management explaining the need for this course of action to improve the operation, and nine months for the cross-training period, it was finally completed. Now, whenever any staffer(s) go on vacation or one or more are out sick, we have multiple options for coverage at any particular work station."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Update the IS systems used by the administrative offices. Several of their internal systems are using antiquated platforms."
