"Verizon overall is a great company. I’m not sure if it’s the district I work in, but I do feel it is a hostile environment. It seems once you’re in wireless you aren’t able to move in other parts of the company which seems unrealistic. From my experience, Favoritism is in place for you to move. My own HR told me it’s hard getting into any other department when you start in wireless. Wish I started elsewhere before I gave almost 6 years with expectations of growing with the company."

What do you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"I like being able to meet new people. I like that, for the most part, we get to run things in our stores the way we want."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You will never pass your interview, as you will just suck a lot less than the others. It's a cutthroat company. Do not believe it when they say it's easy to move up in the company if you work hard. It is extremely difficult."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"The better you are, the more stuff gets handed to you without a raise or any type of incentive. It becomes less motivating having to do so much more work for less pay, because you have more money to spend on work expenses such as gas."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat your ambassadors like they really are part of the team. We always hear you guys say that you appreciate all the work we do for you, but we do not get any recognition."

"It was a fast-paced and challenging work environment, with plenty of opportunities to learn something new."

"As long as you can handle the stress of a face-paced and constantly changing industry, then you should do well. Communication skills are a must as you interact with customers on a continual basis."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"The only negative is that the industry itself promotes layoffs, because with technology, companies are continually merging, which results in layoffs. You can't really avoid it, as it's the nature of the industry."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"As with any company, management can always improve because no one is perfect, but in general, the management was very good and did a good job representing their people."
