"I have been involved with the YMCA for 22 years. They are a great company providing support for people of all ages and backgrounds."
"I've worked with the YMCA of Orange County since 2018. I have a strong working relationship with my supervisor. The compensation is comparable to other Program Director jobs. The culture is friendly and my colleagues are very helpful. However, the workload can be overwhelming when resources are limited to get the job completed successfully."
"I’ve worked at the Hilltop YMCA for almost three years now. It’s a great community based organization with great members. It is not however the most organized or professionally run business. There is a lot of disconnect between staff and the Directors. It definitely needs more stability throughout the building."
"I find this company very helpful in expanding technical knowledge"
"I’ve worked for the YMCA of Paterson for 2 years. I started off as a volunteer and worked my way up as a marketing coordinator. I recommend the YMCA to everyone the workers cherish there members. There is always room for promotions."
"I've worked for the Madison County YMCA since 2014 and wow, has it changed my life! Working for a nonprofit instills some of the most valuable qualities in us as humans. It teaches us more about our community than we ever thought was possible. The Madison County YMCA is a great place to work. There's friendly people, amazing members and so many perks - like a FREE gym membership to any YMCA in the US, one of the best retirement plans a nonprofit has to offer and so much more!"
"It is a really good company to work for. We have a strong family unit that likes to work together and the best part is that we serve our community."
"Worked for about a year and a half now. Technology needs updating to newer if not the latest."
"Overall great place to work with a positive working environment and co-workers."
"Well I’ve actually been at school all my life , but since then I’ve been working at the YMCA & it’s very exciting! Learn new people, everyday. Get to help them out with things I never done before but I love challenges I think that’s what makes me better."
"I worked for the Greater Twin Cities YMCA as a purchasing coordinator for the summer of 2019. I have grown up attending and working for YMCA summer camps, and to be able to contribute to the mission and growth of the company as well as the youth that it impacts will never be forgotten. The office was a delight to come into every morning and hard to leave at the end of the day."
"The YMCA does incredible work for the Richmond area, and its surrounding communities. They are wonderful at coaching and training all those staff they deem worthy. If you aren't one of the favorites, though... you will struggle. There is a strong focus on Diversity and Inclusion, which is admirable in any organization. As is common in this new conversation, there is a long way yet to go, but I would still say the YMCA of Greater Richmond does more than most!"
"I've worked for the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina for a little over three years. I value the Y's mission to help all people reach their potential in body, mind, and spirit. I love what the Y does to help the local community and the services we provide. Whether it is health and wellness related initiatives or donating backpacks, school supplies, and a new outfit to children in need for their first day of school, the Y is invested in helping the community."
"I've worked for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis for the past 4 and a half years off and on throughout college. The job isn't exactly the most difficult or the job that I want to be doing, but I would recommend it someone trying to make some money during the summer or when they are trying to find a job after college. I wish I could say that the company retains it's employee's, but this is just not the case the turnover rate is higher than most. I've seen people come and go within the week and even just the day."
"I have worked for the Emilson YMCA for the past 7 years. I have moved up from being a regular camp counselor, and have become a camp coordinator. I have also worked in the after school programs. In both departments, I have received great respect from my supervisors, as well as a sense of belonging within the company. It has been a great place to work."
