2.2 This company has amazing products and some even more amazing talent... currently. The turnover rate however is enormous and should be an indicator of the health of an organization.Problem 1: Turnover rate HIGH! Everyone here is 9 mos new or newer. Alumni is typically 1 yr. or older. Tribal knowledge escapes every nine months or so causing projects to restart frequently losing previous time and money investments.Problem 2: Leadership lives in a vacuum. They are not in touch with the issues at the tactical level. They only set strategic goals and manage remotely.Problem 3: This organization is at HUGE risk right now of experiencing a breach. There are GREAT engineers trying to warn management of the impending threats but are not regarded as valid input sources.Problem 4: No requirements are ever set prior to procuring products for business use (i.e. applications, systems, etc.) I continually ran into issues where a product didn't meet the intended purpose but was already approved and installed. Wasted money.Problem 5: No system of record...anywhere. They use Excel ad-hoc and multiple versions of projects and statuses exist throughout the company. When you ask "which one is the most accurate?" No one knows.Problem 6: Silos. Everyone exists in silos. Kingdom building is strong here. Don't step on someones turf because the egos are strong. Friendly at first but guarded in the end.Problem 7: Everyone basically talks smack about everyone else. So sad. Unprofessional.I hope this helps.

2.7 I took a WFH job with Williams Sonoma during COVID-19. I would not recommend this employer to anyone. The training was 3 weeks long which sounds like it should’ve been sufficient, but there’s SO much information to absorb and none of the training is hands-on practice so you really start off unprepared for the job. Then once you ‘go live’, the more experienced leads don’t offer sufficient support when you run into questions. I had a 20 year career building airplanes prior to this and had WAY less stress in that job than I have in the 5 weeks I’ve worked for WSI. I will not likely stay with the company. They also require a 50 hour work week when they need it from you, even though you’re hired for a normal, full time 40 hr/wk job. There’s no option not to work the overtime even if your life obligations can’t accommodate the OT work. Not impressed.

3.4 The store is great. We have lots of great customers who visit regularly and we know them by name. We have great products and opportunities to try them out.Corporate direction has gone from offering incentives, etc. to pushing aggressively and shaming. Our district manager tells managers on their conference calls to shame employees into results. We are told repetitively that we are only as good as yesterday's numbers. We are expecting to strong arm customers into applying for WS credit cards.
