"Good company to start, but if you do not have inside connections you won't move up."
"A good company to work for, the compensation has reduced significantly in the two years I have worked here and the company blames it on Verizon Wireless, but many things that we used to be paid for we no longer are. The company is getting the income from Verizon but it isn't being passed down the chain."
"Been here almost 2 years and it is typical of corporate America - so please come in with that clearly in your minds. There are many, many, many levels and layers, and if you are one that fits snugly into this type of environment and will do until you retire - WELCOME aboard! If not, it's a great place to see the US from a carrier's perspective and feel like you're the most wanted in a good way, BUT it is a corporation and you should plan your exit strategy early rather than late. Good luck!"
"I've worked for Verizon for a total of 12 years. The first time I worked with them it was for 10 years in the Indirect channel. The position I held at this time was the SW Regional Merchandise manager covering the SW region. I was laid off from this position in 2010. Came back to the company in 2012 as a customer care representative shortly after that I moved the Coordinator Tech support. Over all I see that if you want a career in a call center then this is a great company to work with....."
"Big Company, great benefits, people are treacherous, entrenched, work spaces are toxic. This is a very type x company but not in a disciplined way. It stifles innovation and is not personality diverse."
"Verizon is a great company to work for. I would recommend this company to anyone. The would join them on a full time basis if they had any opening in my field."
"Excellent benefits, Management withholding relocation to Tampa Florida. Even though Management denies this. Out of the four major departments our Fraud department and Business Departments have already been relocated to Ohio, leaving Our customer service and Technical support departments left."
"I worked for them and they preach life work balance as an employee; but, they put the companies bottom line above employee needs. Even if you perform at a the highest level they will overlook you if you don't build a non professional relationship with your supervisor or managers."
"I worked for Verizon Wireless for about 3 years as a Regional Systems Technician. I worked as a contractor with hopes to become full time, but it seems that was not the case. Although my contract was terminated, I enjoyed the position very much."
"I have worked for Verizon for seven years and it is a very rewarding opportunity. Leadership is very demanding but focus on employee satisfaction. Verizon strives for fun in the work place and they see to it that it happens. I have had a wonderful experience but would like to further my IT role in other areas of my degree."
