"Don't ever settle for what someone tells you, have them show you in writing! Just because that's always the way it's been done doesn't mean it's right."

"The amount of work expected from so few people is completely overwhelming to the people assigned the work and for those who shirk their duties, the work is merely pawned off on hard-working people, making their lives more miserable."

"Lead by example. Too often leaders ask their men to accomplish impossible tasks without the slightest thought to the actual logistics involved with completing the task."

"Immediate supervisor and coworkers are helpful and responsive, not so much everyone else. Training opportunities abound, but must be related to the job you are doing, not the one you want."

"Get as much information about the job as you can. This can be hard due to the nature of the work, but the two year commitment will drag by if the position is not a good match."
