2.4 Take care of your employees and treat them with the same respect you expect in return and they in turn will keep you happy with money in your pockets. The Mid level staff that cannot get paid OT should not be expected to work it when the salary is lower than his/her counter parts of other companies and in some cases within our own company. Maybe a Security Directors Union would help to keep the salaries honest and on a scale based on property square footage. Some SD's and Assistant SD's make more than others who have way more square footage and personnel to cover than others. The Client should not dictate salary based on budget!!!

1 What a joke company. They try to cheat on your paychecks. If you work a certain post, make sure you get that pay. For example, I worked a post that pays $13/hr. They paid 10.50/hr my first 40 hours. They said I was training so that's the pay. Okay? I only trained for 2 days. That's 16 hours. So shouldn't that be 16 hours of 10.50/hr, then 24 hours of $13/hr? Sometimes they will call you to come early/stay late for some special occasions. Yeah they forget to pay you for that too. I stayed over 4 hours. Didn't get paid. You can't leave unless someone comes to relieve you. Guards are allowed to come 15 min late. So you don't get paid for that 15 min overtime waiting every day for that inconsiderate guard. If you leave you "abandon post". I am not the only one with this experience. Numerous guards with the same situation. Overtime, no pay. Worked extra hours, no pay. This is not a good stepping stone to become a police officer. Not really a true security company. A security officer's role is to protect life and property. This company's role is to not get involved with anything, just observe and report. The reason is if you get hurt, they are not going to cover you. So if some girl was getting raped or getting beat up by her boyfriend, you can't get involved. Someone calls to complain about loud music, you can't get involved. Someone calls about a skater skating on sidewalk, you can't get involved. All you say to them is please call the cops. What is the point of security then?

1.8 I worked for Universal Protection Service at a business district high-rise campus. The pay is insulting (sub-livable wage) for the amount of work and responsibility that the company commands from it's employees. The upper management is apathetic to its employees. They rarely address or fix grievances. The companies benefits packages are only accessible after a year of full time work.
