Overview UC San Francisco or UCSF was established as a center of health sciences research, patient care and education in 1873. Located in San Francisco, California, USCF operates ten campuses within San Francisco. UCSF offers students with degree programs in Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Graduate Studies. USCF’s Chancellor, Susan Desmond-Hellmann, MD, MPH, is the ninth chancellor and first woman to lead USCF.

USCF enrolls roughly 2,940 students in various degree programs, 1,620 residents (physicians, dentists and pharmacists in training) and 1,030 postdoctoral scholars per year.
