"I've worked for Toys R' Us for more than 2 years. At first, I started as a seasonal worker and then became a part time employee. There were good times as well as bad times. I learned a lot about customer service and providing service."

"Treat people fairly."
"I've worked for Toys R Us for several months, and overall I found the Toys R Us I work for to be very disrespectful to their employees and their customers. They teach you to believe that the customer is always right, only to call the customers themselves slurs behind their backs. A very unprofessional and sometimes unsafe working environment."
"I've been a Team Member at TRU since 2008. The pay is abysmal for what you're expected to know and the scheduling is never consistent. There are certainly worse places to make just over minimum wage, but it's not the type of place where you want to make a career."
"I worked for this location for five years and in those years, growth was very slow. I'm not sure how managers think micro-managing is productive, but it's not. Employees were treated like drones more than people and the higher-ups were too concerned about sales figures instead of the quality of life. Two to three days a week on minimum wage for an adult is hardly an opportunity, but the culture saw that as serviceability. More consideration should be given to growing the brand."
"I never get a paid 15 minute break and I have worked her for over a year."
What do you like about working at Toys R Us?
"Its a fast paced environment, there are nice people who work there."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Go to a better job. The starting pay at walmart is a lot higher."
What don't you like about working at Toys R Us?
"There are no breaks, after a 8 hour shift you get one lunch break. The environment sucks and the management is awful."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Be brighter. Do not hire out of the company, promote those inside the company."
"If you need a job that is flexible with your school schedule, then Toys R Us will provide that. If you want to work somewhere that is structure and can help you in the future, Toys R Us is not the place. You will not be properly trained and items are moved to a different place almost weekly without notice. So it is hard to know where everything should be."
"Working for Toy R Us for a year and a half, was hired seasonally, and asked to stay on as a part time employee. After awhile, was asked to become a supervisor, and work full time, and promised a proper raise. Now, six months later, I haven't seen a raise that takes me above what a sales associate makes, and don't get more than 32 hours a week. Awful company to work for."
"Over worked, very little hours, and a large amount of responsibility placed on your shoulders with the threat of termination happening everyday.Unlike other retail jobs, this place is very hard to work for. I'd classify this as the fast food job of the retail marketplace. Don't expect much because you won't get much. You will be classified as a number and might as well learn to love it if you work there."
"I have worked for Toys R Us for two years and I have found nothing satisfying while working for this company. In fact the company is very political, if you are lucky enough to find yourself as a store manager you do not have to do much. Unfortunately if you are on the low end of the totem pole you get stuck trying to make miracles happen with limited resources, and little input or help from management. The managers show little respect for employees and it sometimes feels like they have big egos."
"Please Please Please DO NOT work here! Horrible place to work. I started off as seasonal then became a part time employee. Then after a month of being a regular employee they just laid me off out of nowhere, two hours into my shift. Management is rude and only cares about credit cards. You get very very little training. Basically have to learn everything on your own. If you're not available at a certain time to work, they will be sure to schedule you during that time. Completely careless company. Plus, they're one of the only companies to still input ID into systems with returns, which we get yelled at for by customers. Don't give this place the time of day. ."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"It's all about the metrics. If you can't drive them, they will drive you out."
